I\'ve been trying to get one since its release and I\'m constantly a little too late and their all sold out when I get to the stores... I\'m on a waiting list but that store doesnt get them in very often and in small quantities. :(

What games do you have? Which would you recommend?

Wheeeee!

Keep us informed about it\'s performance. I am tempted by one of those as they are (or at least will be) well-priced. Anything\'s better than that 360 I have occupying the corner...*Ducks and runs for cover*:D

My husband and I managed to get one of these soon after they came out, and I think it\'s pretty cool, also. It probably won\'t have much appeal to folks who want the prettiest graphics, but for sheer fun factor, I think it scores pretty high. The innovative controller opens up a lot of creative possibilities, and really helps get you into the games.

My current favourite game is Rayman: Raving Rabbids. One of the mini games is shooting the rabbids with toilet plungers, and it\'s just not getting old for me any time soon. The rhythm mini games are also pretty fun, and the games often have me literally LOL. We bought Super Monkeyball: Banana Blitz for the mini games, also, but those I\'ve been less impressed with. Many of the games don\'t seem to respond to the controller as much as is necessary to play the game. Like if you\'re trying to move the pointer from the \'front\' to the \'back\' of a game area, it doesn\'t read that you\'re going to the back, just moves you side to side sort of thing. I haven\'t tried the main game yet.

We\'ve also been enjoying the pack-in game, Wii Sports, and we\'re neither of us sporty. Since it\'s built around movements that are very natural to the sports, and uses very simple controls, it probably is the best showcase for introducing friends and family to the use of the controller, and generally just getting the hang of it.

Marvel Heroes: Ultimate Alliance is a fun game, but while you use the controller, its use doesn\'t feel quite as natural and customized as in the games specifically designed for it. Zelda: Twilight Princess, on the other hand, uses the controller in a lot of fun ways and looks like a good game, but it\'s a long game and I\'ve barely scratched the surface on that one, so I can\'t comment in depth.

Those are all the games we have as yet. We\'ve got Elebits on pre-order, and I\'m tempted to try Trauma Center. I need to stop painting so much and start playing more games!

The controller/s are occasionally a little hit and miss with some games, but the potential for the future is plain to see.

The console is also TINY - no bigger than an external CD drive or ZIP drive. That goes for the remote and the nunchuk as well - SMALL! Everything is beautifully designed and built I have to say - even down to things like the spring loaded battery terminals inside the remotes. All the nasty ports and slots are covered.

Each remote has a speaker. Doesn\'t sound like much, but it\'s inspired - tennis is brilliant and more involving for it.

Speaking of tennis on Wii Sports - it\'s outstanding. Four player is one of the funniest things I\'ve witnessed in a long time!

Having never played a Zelda game before, it came as a very pleasant surprise. The contollers work really well, although the fighting is more a case of just waving your arms about like a loon. The rest of the game makes up for that minor indiscretion though.

Laser Hockey on Wii Play shows what the new controllers can do with an ancient concept like Pong. Table tennis is fun, but I reckon Rockstar could make a cracking version of their ping pong game using the new controls.

Monkey Ball main game works brilliantly. Most of the mini games are cack. They should have stuck to the original few games I reckon. Still worth a look though.

Yet to play any of the FPS games that have come out for it. I haven\'t plugged it into the web yet either. I\'ve got a 2000 point card awaiting something cool to download. I may have to spend some on the original NES Zelda.

All in all, I\'m well chuffed with it. I never bought a GameCube and I can play GC discs now as well :)

Winner!

Fantastic! They do look like great fun....and real exercise!!

Just make sure your wrist straps are secured...there are tons of reports of them coming unfastened and the controlling smashing up TV\'s, windows, and noses....

You want to get the SNES version - Quality game!

Scott, where did you get hold of your Wii?

I was one of the unfortunates caught up in the great Argos debacle!
After having had my brass sitting gathering interest since the day pre-orders began (20/10) I was told I was / wasn\'t getting a machine / that it had been delivered to the wrong house / that there was no record of my order on the system. I had however pre-ordered with Gamestation and was number 8 on the list. - They got 8 delivered. However, they weren\'t taking pre-orders for games so guess who was queued up with the *geeks* at 12 midnight on Thursday to ensure I got hold of what I needed!

And guess what turned up (at the wrong address) on Saturday morning? I\'m the \'proud\' owner of 2 wiis, 2 copies of Zelda, 2 copies of Monkey Ball, 3 copies of Wii play and 8(!) nunchuks!

I know they\'re going for ridiculous money on ebay and contemplated banging it on there but after offering it round family members first, my sister-in-law snapped it up!

Tell us some more of your antics - I\'ve got to wait \'til Xmas!

Got to play with my friend\'s Wii last week (stop sniggering), and enjoyed it pretty well.

The first person shooter didn\'t do anything for me. As the controller senses any movement, my sights kept going all over the place. Not enjoyable. The Rayman game was fun, the sports package was nice. Big draw for me is the downloading of older games and that it\'s GameCube playable. BIG bonus.

How does the power for the controllers work then? If It is batteries I can envisage it being expensive constantly replacing them. Is there any way to power the controllers other than batteries? Is it possible to connect a \'normal\' pad for use with all of the wii\'s games so you don\'t have to wave your arms around like a loony?

The remotes take 2xAA batteries. I\'ve got a load of rechargeable metal halide ones, so it isn\'t particularly expensive.

You can buy \'classic\' Wii controllers or simply stick your GC ones straight into the console. But why on earth would you NOT want to wave your arms about like a loony? That\'s the console\'s USP!

It also accepts GC memory cards as well as SD cards for Wii saves and downloads.

I got mine from Game. Only pre-ordered two weeks ago as well.

There has been much swearing in my house today as the Mrs manages to kick my arse for the first time in ages at a video game. Her only previous victories have been at Worms and Super Puzzle Fighter Turbo(which she is nigh on unstoppable at...).

Today I got a slapping playing billiards, laser hockey and Monkey Ball. I can still thrash her at tennis though :D I\'ve just mastered the \'smash\' serve which leaves her flailing like a real jumbly! She was getting annoyed, so I started sending some dolly balls back to her. Unfortunately this simply lead to me discovering an awesome sliced backhand that swerves in the air, then bananas on the bounce :D Awesome!

Waiting for my mates to get theirs now so we can have some four player lunacy. Only trouble is, I need a bigger lounge and TV!!!
