Scott brought it to our meet up tonight we had it on the projection screen and its wicked. The baseball and tennis are pure genius with the Wii remotes.

They sound great and realistically I will probably pass on the PS3 but do they play DVD\'s I mean the amount of gadgets now that I need to plug in the 240 is getting out of hand.

Ah, the old Vectrex with its changeable coloured plastic sheets to go over the black and white screen. The gaming equivalent of watching B&W movies through Quality Strete wrappers. I think we only ever had two games for that - Asteroids and Defender but we still loved it more than our C64, Spectrum 48 and ZX81. Then came the Sega Master System and the world moved on...

I don\'t think it plays DVD\'s, no. There\'s supposedly some software out there to convert computer files into formats it can handle (lacking the divx and xvid, I don\'t know if it plays mpeg or wma either) but no DVD support is forseeable. I don\'t even know if it\'s possible honestly.

Between my 360 and my regular DVD player I\'m good Pretty soon I\'ll have a DVD player, 360, Wii, N64 and digital cable box all hooked up to my TV. The NES and SNES are gonna stay upstairs, I don\'t have nearly enough inputs for all this lol

BTW the only reason I have a DVD player hooked up at all is for the remote. And for the optical sound cable to hook into my surround system... can\'t forget that

I hate using my game systems as a DVD player. Mostly because in my experience overuse of the laser system burns out the players to quick. I\'ve had CD players, Playstations, DVD players, etc... all stop working after a while from excessive use I suppose. I\'m afraid of that happening to the XBox too. Maybe they make them better now, but I\'ve never heard anything to the contrary.

Systems I\'ve owned (Not necessairly in order as we are going way back and I may have missed a couple):

1) Atari 2600
2) Commodore 64
3) Colecovision
4) Vectrex
5) TI-99 4A
6) Bally
7) ?? (Don\'t remember the name, it was big, huge/expensive cartridges, was basically the same thing inside their arcade machines only for home).
8) NES
9) Sega
10) Super Nintendo
11) Dreamcast
12) Gamecube
13) Playstation
14) Playstation II
15) XBox 360

I\'ve left out computers of course (at lease ones which also served non-gaming purposes). I\'ve had few to no handhelds, which I\'ve never been much of a fan of. And I know I missed a couple in the middle. Each was my favorite I suppose when I first got them. Though the C64 was my favorite for longest and the one I still think back fondly of the most, missing games such as Archon and M.U.E.L.

7) Could it be a Neo-Geo? That was the one that was supposedly arcade standard I think.

Bless you Highbulp Billy. It indeed was a Neo-Geo and it\'s been driving me nuts these past few hours trying to remember what the frigging thing was called. It was a top-notch system for it\'s day, to bad the game cartridges were like $300ish each.

Indeed it was arcade standard. As I recall they basically took the guts of their arcade machines and put them in a box with connectors for your TV. The controllers were the same as was on the arcade machine too, only in a rather big \'hand held\' form (really you placed it on a table cause they were huge).
