By rights they should be bigger, but games workshop havent grasped the concept of making things to scale, so no, guardsmens heads are bigger than marines.

If you mean are the pieces interchangable, then yes.

This is because GW handily makes all the pieces to same scale deliberately ;)
So that people can convert and use pieces from across the range.

By rights though, BG is right - marines should be gigantic, almost twice as big as regular guardsmen - almost ogryn size.

Why should marine\'s heads be so much bigger?

Ego?

No seriously, why?

ok, thanks for the replies guys, I thought the CMON community shunned me completely. If space marines\' heads were almost ogryn sized then there would be even more funny looking space marines.lol

MARINE TRANSFORMATION

Being NERDY enough to have read nearly alll the Space Marine novels, I can give what I think is the definative answer:yawn:.

All Space Marines go through a metmorphosis once they have passed their training/selection.This transformation includes extra organ implants and complete body enlargement. As a result when they join their combat units they are approx 8 feet tall!

So yes ,a Space marines head should be bigger than an ordinary Imperial Guard grunts head.

In fact if you really want to get anul about it you could say the scaling of the Citadel minis is actually wrong .If you put a plastic marine next to a guardsman hes not nearly as big and tall as he should be.

Please remember this is not my veiw on things this is the LAW of the Space Marines life as recorded by G.W.
I hope all this helps. :D

GOD bless .................VINCENTI

A lot of it\'s not down to the scale. It boils down to the fact a lot of the models are designed for gaming purposes. this means things like heads can be exaggerated as well as weapons and whatnot purely because they stand out better on the tabletop...

LOTR range was the first proper scaled models gw have done and they did a good job of it but that said compare Aragons sword to a chaos warriors and you get the idea of what I\'m saying...

there are some strange things across the range in particular plastics like elves and guardsmen they all have hands like fecking great monkeys...all good fun.

Also on marines they do have a tendency to walk like they\'ve soild they\'re suits and bent at the knee straighten th legs they\'re a lot taller but models with straight legs like the new dark angel compny master are no taller than they\'re squatting battle brothers???
