Heavy Bunker (Sci-fi)

This isn\'t quite finished yet, need to do some extra weathering and add another two turrets on bunkers either side of this main one.. but its good enough to show:

It\'s all scratch built (turrets also), the turrets rotate etc, the underside ones being held on with rare earth magnets. Interior is lit with 4 LEDs powered by battery in the \"generator\" out the back.

I\'ve \'just\' noticed that I didn\'t take an interior shot looking towards the back door, and as such you cant see the ladder system that runs from the ground up to the top hatch (hinged)....Had to do quite a lot of monkeying around to get the ladder t run continuously from one floor to the next without any gaps a REAL PITA job - and then forgets to photograph it - Doh!

Someone just scored it with a 1 but I think it deserves a bit higher score than that...?

comments appreciated.

Well done. Looks awesome. I wish I could manage to build really good buildings like this. And whoever posted the 1 is an idiot.

Absolutely great bunker! :D Thumbs up.
Gave you a 9. Two minor things hold me off giving you a 10.
1. The ground base looks a little bit too clean. I would add some scrap or paint some blotches.
2. The stone part of the bunker looks somehow \"grainy\" ???
Just my 2 cents...
Anyhow: GREAT BUILDING! :)

Nice work, I think a 9 is fair given the amount of work and the finish but I think it will look better when you\'ve done more weathering, on the ground at least.

Good idea! Could you tell me where you got them?

There\'s always some dicks around with what they consider to be a sense of humour to knock good work, try not to let it bother you. Watching the scores ebb and flow on a couple of my gallery entries I\'m dealing with that myself currently

magnets were from here: http://www.shop4tools.co.uk/acatalog/Neodymium_Magnets.html

big range and they are very powerful - used an 8mmx1mm to mount the underside turrets and that was plenty strong enough, really have to tug it to pull them out.

yeah the \"score 1\" snipers are a pita, I wouldn\'t mind so much if they actually posted their name with the score giving a reason.

I won\'t fiinish the ground work until the other two bunkers are done - one either side with the air-defence turrets on them.. and then the defence line running back to a gateway so that the whole thing is an enclosed camp. Once they are all done and ready i\'ll know better where to throw in some damage, junk, supplies and weathering.

Its wonderful and much be extremly satisfying to have planned it and built it from scratch.

I am most impressed by the \'power\' source and how you integrated the battery into the \'generator\'. That is just genius. Congratulations on such a well done piece.
