Just a quickie:

A big, beefy miniature by Jim \"Look at what you could\'ve won\" Bowen.

CMON link...

No doubt there\'ll be some fanboys out there to tell me what colours I got wrong :D

Yeah, isn\'t Hellboy supposed to be blue???

Damn fine painting there. I love the coat - really smooth and the shading on the red is very impressive. I\'ll just pop off and vote

I\'ve got this guy on my \'ready to paint\' shelf...I\'ll be using this as a guide, thats for sure.

Well done Scott, another of yours that will make it to my favorites list.

Great job.
(funny thing is I am working on a sort of hellboy myself right now - just started sculpting the right arm).
Where did this come from, because the only Hellboy mini I\'ve seen before is a much poorer sculpt.

It comes from a sculptor by the name of Jim Bowen. If you check out Monolith Designs on the web, you can see much of his stuff...although I couldn\'t find the Hellboy stuff there at all...

Cheers!

I used Vallejo Model Air Flourescent Red as a final highlight and it\'s the badgers nadgers. The photos have dulled it down considerably. The skin is searingly bright IRL - I seriously thought about inking it back, but I\'m glad I didn\'t. Well worth a look as an alternative to highlighting red.

Is it... \"unlicensed\" by any chance? That might make it hard to find on his site lol

Looks great and more so for a quicky. And the colors are not that wrong. In the comic he was a dark red but that was because the entire comic was done in dark tones since most of the action was at night, underground, bad lighting and in creepy situations.

Wizkids did a bunch of Hell Boy stuff for Hero Clixs..if you can figure out how to get the thick layer of Chinese paint off them they will repaint up nice. The origionals were quite nice.

Cheers Max:beer:

I reckon dropping an email to the guys at Monolith would be a good idea if you want one - they had boxes full of all their Hellboy figs at the show I went to, so they\'re definitely selling them!

You can also join Jim Bowen\'s Yahoo group HERE!!!!

Nice work, thanks for the tip about using the fluorescent red.
