I've been posting pics here for some time but never before engaged in the forums... so hello!

Here is a Salamanders chapter librarian I recently finished. Input and recs welcome.

I'm basically happy with the paint job ..... I need to work on my 'light box' and other camera skills for sure.

Not bad, seems a little to mix n match with the different colours on the armour. Also the edge of the base needs tidying imo. Otherwise, a solid pj

Thanks everyone.

Yeah freak, I painted this according to specs laid out by my brother (its his b-day gift) that wove together chapter green with the usual librarian blue. Something I've seen others do but in this case I agree the colors don't blend so well as a final package. And the base got maybe 30 minutes treatment. That's gritty black lava paste-paint from some company.

Supervike, I agree with the low level of pop on the armor. Funny thing, usually I spend way more time doing that and give short attention to other aspects. This time around I cruised through the armor real fast and let it be.

Montka I dont recall where I got the background, it was a couple years back googling around and I found it on a 40k painting site. I know, lame lead, but thats all I got. It's just an 8"x12" stock paper printed pattern. The light box is a printer paper box with big holes cut on the sides and top, covered with translucent wax paper. I curl the pattern paper in the back corner, set the model in there at the right angle, and click. Works fine outside in indirect light, or inside with flashlights and desklamps pointed at the wax paper areas so that the light hits the model more evenly.
