Thank you! Thank you very much!!

Supervike: I thank you for the kind remarks. I often wonder if I should go back to painting on canvas, which for me, is much easier than trying to conquer the mastery of miniatures; but alas, it\'s a challenge I cannot resist!???

steelcult: Yes, this is a very beautiful sculpt from Phoenix Phantasy, \'Diana The Huntress Goddess walking with two large dogs\'...PXFX11 and for some reason, I cannot resist these miniatures because of the sculpting. They have also prompted me into the realm of sculpting, which I am currently working on my first figures..wish me luck!:D

...the breed of large dog in this sculpting???????

I just started this piece and do not know the type of dog. I want to make sure they\'re painted properly, but my search on the internet \'under large dogs\' and after viewing 100\'s of pics, I still cannot find it. If I knew the breed, perhaps it would help in my search?
Thanks in advance for any assistance,
Faye

You actually sculpted this piece? HOLY FRIGGIN\' WOW!!! To say you got mad skills would be an understatement. I would definitely buy a mini like this if it were mass produced. Have your considered taking your talent to one of the mini companies?

Kenpo Wolf,

I think you miss-understood. Faye got this one from Phoenix Fantasy, \'Diana The Huntress Goddess walking with two large dogs\'...PXFX11 but has been inspired to try and sculpt something herself.

Faye, I wish you well in your sculpting endeavours, please post some pics to share your sculpting and a few pics of this model when you\'ve painted it. ;)

Regards

Kat

Thank you very much, Kat, for your well wishes. I have studied a lot of Michelangelo\'s works in the past and was inspired immensley. Gosh, I\'m saying Thank you a great deal on this site and I think you\'re all a wonderful, inspiring group of people. Helpful, when I need assistance and funny when I need to laugh.
Sincerely,
Faye

Oops, me bad. I should have read the entry closer. The paintjob still looks great in my opinion. I would love to see it when it gets done.

Sorry I couldn\'t be of help on identifying the dog breed. The most I could tell about any of the pictures was that the one Finn posted was a boy dog :D

However, as to the above quoted statement: God! Do I hear you!! Have spent years happily painting on canvas and paper (watercolor). Then  my wonderful son introduces me to the world of minis  I haven\'t felt comfortable with my painting talents since :flame: However, like you I refuse to pitch in the towel. Then again, UNlike you, I don\'t paint minis nearly as well.

Good luck with the sculpting!

PS - Dedwrekker - the above comments were, of course, made tongue in cheek :D

I agree, Steelcult, but...

...when you see my first real sculpting, you will no doubt, recognize the original artist. And, it is my hope/goal to duplicate every inch of this massive sculpting, in a much smaller size. of course. An intentional plagiarism to test my skills. It was the same work of art that inspired, Michelangelo. I\'ll see just how close I can come?????

I am attaching a few links to a small portion of my artwork and would love to see some of yours?

Faye, those are beautiful!!!! I\'m highly impressed!
I used to have an extensive selection of my artwork (watercolors, photos, and digital media) on a website. However, during a crash (personal, not digital) it all went bye-bye. Hopefully, I\'ll recover enough (economically, not psersonally) to get the site back up [sigh] and also be able to afford a digital camera or other means of posting here.

these artworks are fantastic!!! Faye, are you a full-time artist?!?!?

it\'s beautiful...it\'s a pity they lump those \"artists\" (the red line drawer and butt impressionist and ...) together with your caliber...this is what i really call art. :)

mouse, to answer your first question, no, I could not afford to stay home and live soley from my art, but work part-time to cover my health/medical insurance...it\'s astronomical to have to pay this cost out-of-pocket and I am not married!:(

Secondly, thank you very much for the compliments...I sincerely appreciate your kindness. The blue painting with the big yellow moon was lovingly dubbed by my family, \'Tree Butts\' ....in case you didn\'t notice, all the trees are women, including the stump; but, unfortunately the picture came out so dark that a lot of the details are lost...you can barely make out the ship on the sea!

Thanks again,
Faye

Talent

You truely are talented Faye, I must say that I am a bit envyous of you.:) Like someone said on another thread, anyone can paint a line on a canvas (well maybe not me:rolleyes: ) but to evoke emotion, tell a story, and inspire others like you do, that is art.:wow:

You\'re a sweetheart, stumpkiller and....

...please, don\'t envy me. Like most, I\'m just a poor, starving artist who can barely afford my paint brushes and paints, that\'s legally blind with arthritis setting in at an astounding rate and, but for my love of painting, music and widsom gleened via experience(And CMON), I am nobody to be envious of. Although, my lifestyle wouldn\'t suit many, I couldn\'t be happier in my small, little, piece of the world! :D
