Help! Find me something to paint!

evil tendencies

Cake or Death?
As inevitably happens, I\'ve run into a painting block once again. I\'ve been painting non-stop for 6 months (I\'m on an extended medical leave) and I\'ve finally hit that point where nothing in my cabinet really appeals to me again. When I get like this, I usually find something different that makes me go at it differently, and it freshens the experience for me again.

For some reason, I can\'t seem to find that model.

So, here\'s where I\'m hoping you wonderful folks will help me: can you guys suggest a mini that is original and challenging for me to go after? If you aren\'t interested, I understand - I\'m just hoping that someone is sitting on something good and is itching to share. Thanks in advance!

Do you game or just paint? Do you want a model to go crazy on converting or just get to the brushin\'? Vehicle models I find are great way to break the funk. Maybe something outside the normal scale range you prefer would do it for you?

I\'ve been working on a vampire counts corpse cart. It\'s really fun! Or how about some Rackham stuff? That\'s always nice.

An Ultramarine!

Ok, just kidding :)

I always like going to a Rackham mini when I get bored. They have a totally different style compared to the GW stuff that I usually paint.

Try painting a mini in a different painting style. For example, if you always use white primer, try using black, or vice verce. If you use lots of washes, try painting a model using only layering and no wash/shades. I find this the best way to get out of painters block. You get to paint in a whole different way, and who knows, maybe you\'ll try something new and end up liking it!

Oh, and sign up for ME 18 if you haven\'t already. Lots of unique figures can be had from that.

Try Heresy, he has some amazing sculpts especially the angel model - im currently struggling over this mini i have no idea how to paint the wings there huge but it is a lovely model and well ot of my comfort zone :D my works in progress get a bit much some times as im working on about 3000pts of black templars, 2000pts of dark angels, 4000pts of eldar (mainly older models) 1500pts of imperial guard, and god knows how many points of brettonians, empire and orks with a handfull of single figures from the likes of heresy and andrea minis - I must be mental lol
