Help for Hurricane Victims

I would love to do something...
I just got back from a trip and am a little late for this. I have very little time because of other commitments, but I picked up a blister of Way Watchers the other day, and if I can get any finished anytime soon I\'ll be happy to send them your way.
Is there a paint scheme? Or should we just go traditional? I was going to use this pack to test out a \'winter\' color scheme, for future army plans, but I can do whatever because I haven\'t even found the time to prime them yet.

@Twitchy Welcome to the forums :flip:
Sand on the base some where and the paint over colors will be brown tones but you may embellish the base any other way you want but no snow.

@Braveheart712 Space marines humm I think that darkartminiatures mentioned space marines doing well, you know much more than I here what ever would bring in some money and from the sounds of it you are in the right direction
@Itchy Many troops as we can get painted Fantasy wood elves go on square bases so that is what we shall do with them seems to be the standard size.
CLOAK COLORS yes... dark angels, snot, and goblin green those are the sploches on the site or there abouts.
If I had a secretary I would have one painted by now lol But no such luck :
As far as the ruins we did a huge web search and find nothing Becca will call GW and ask the men in the know what they are, She report here after the quest
I look through all the posts and the email and tried to answer all the questions I found.
I am happy to see that the world is not all callous people and thank each one of you for that. going to update the name list on front page of thread and i think I have you all on the painters page please check though Lord knows I am so human.
More minis going to the post office in the AM.

My mini has arrived safely now, and I should be getting started on it this weekend
In other good news; the company I work for made the announcement today that they would match any donation made by an employee for the relief effort, so will be matching whatever the auction for my piece ends up at.

@ Tab & Becca if you are talking about the elf ruins pic I saw earlyer on the form they are in one of the black gobbo articles on the GW web site should be in one of the newer issuse.

Um...my company is really in no way associated with anything to do with miniatures, they\'re just doing it to help, not to get recognition

I\'ve started putting together the glade riders, I\'ve got some toime off next week so hopefully I\'ll be able to get cracking on with them. I\'ve had a look at the components and they look like fiddly buggers to paint.

@ Braveheart712: If you are going to be painting any marines then i know that there is always alot of watchers for Ultramarines, Darkangels and Imperial Fists. I would of done some marines but I\'m currently doing a 3000+ ultramarine force for a customer and they are driving me mad (around 60 marines and his list keeps growing) :bouncy: So elves sound like a nice change

Just joined up, and want to say...IMMPS (Illinois/Midwest Mini Painters Society), challenges other groups out there to join in! One long painters gather can accomplish a whole heck of a lot!

Honestly my hands are full now, I am working on a marine army for a tourney in three weeks, but I am happy to put aside some time if the need is there to help. Right now I am planning on painting what Tracy has assigned me, like you said, it will be a welcomed change. I did see an earlier post about marines, and I could make one or two of them if need be. Is there enough interest to paint a 40K army as well, I dont know. As for chapters, I am currently working on Dark Angels and Iron Hands, but would be wiling to paint whatever the group here thinks would sell. I think though that first we should focus on the wood elf project, then maybe move on to a marine army, what do you think? Thoughts, comments?

@ Braveheart: Yeah i reckon we just do the same army. One large army would get higher bids than a couple of smaller ones i think.

One large army is an idea tried but the coordination takes long and also I received this from an eBayer

Right now the army per piece price is an average of 30.50 usd per mini I am watching though I am open minded but, boy do we know the pitfalls of army creation for others involved.
Hoping the small troops and the characters will be faster and more dollar producing.

Got my mini yesterday, I did some minor cleaning up and have re-primed the areas cleaned up. Hopefully I can get some work started on it today.

Regarding Elf Runes...
Gave a call to GW and they have no \"set\" alphabet for the elves as yet, but confirmed that most elf runes derive in some way from Tolkien\'s set. I will look into resources for this and get them on the site. I know I have had a font for them in the past, finding it again shouldn\'t be a problem...
