That looks great (and oy vey, such flattering text!). I\'m really sorry about the pics - I had some kind of brain-fluctuation when i said I\'d take better pics after I\'d already posted you the model... Yours are better than those I already had, the light that day was terrible.

Rachael you put the highest quality Drycha with us and all due respects you are a great painter and deserve the text.
I think it is so easy for me to see your qualities ....all of you ....where to see your own would seem wrong....or egotistical .

I write from the heart it is easy, you are all so darn special you have given a part of you that will leave and never be recaptured. Your emails give me the inspiration and in every one of you the interest is admirable, true hearted and of honestly talented painters. I am a tool and honored to help you realize how special you should feel.

Terry Check it out, and let me know by email if there is something wrong. The Phoenix rules!

I\'ll post the pics tomorrow and get them in the mail.I am a bit delirious right now,so excuse me if they look a bit rushed,it\'s cause they are.I figure the people in need are in need now,not when I get done with biochem.

Tracy,
Checked it out and it looks good. Thanks for the kind words.

The link from the picture on Kevin\'s bases is actually leading to the directory instead of the pic. By the way Kevin, they look great.

I started basign the Waywatcher I received yesterday. It scares me that this model has absolutely no flat surfaces anywhere.

Nice Drycha Rachel. A freind of mine is a big fan (and collector) of your pieces and is waiting to see this one up for auction.

Congratulations to all, for some very lovely works are being done by everyone. My painting ability is absolutely nill so I am doing my part by donating my time to FEMA and money directly to the Red Cross and can only offer suggestions in this project where I see they are overlooked. Since I haven\'t seen a post to all of you on the subject of taxes, I would remind you that, though this is a labor of love, there is a more practical side to this project that you should remember. I am sure Tracy will address this in a future post when things slow down a bit.

When tax time rolls around, remember to claim all your expenses on your 1040, even if another person actually did the auction and sent the funds to the charity. You can claim, among other things, your postage to mail your mini, your worth per hour in painting time, Adopt an Elf donation, any donations made to the Works of Heart project for postage (like the $3 send back with the mini, or donations sent to cover fees, or just plain donations not specified for a particular thing), mileage to mail the mini or to get supplies, cost of supplies even you already had them on hand, donations of material items for the Work of Heart to auction, ect. When you add up everything, that amount will not be a small amount for any of you. If added to personal donations made to other causes in 2005, you should have a nice chariable deduction.

Tracy will have a lot to deduct with her personal expenses, and the IRS would want each of you to benefit from your hard work by deducting any part of your contribution, no matter how small. Remember, even if one person actually auctions the items and is responsible for sending the donation to the charity, each individual person can claim their own deductions, too. There would be no overlap of deductions since the IRS computers will look for such things so you safely make your deductions as part of this project.

For those who took part in the PaintAid, don\'t forget your deductions as part of that project.

Tracy, when I click on the pic of my tree stand, it takes me to your root photo directory - not to a larger pic of the trees.

Other than that - GREAT.

Weel, at this rate it looks like our relief efforts for one hurricane may become a project for two. Rita has just been upgraded to Category 5. This means winds over 165 MPH. If we\'re lucky it will peak and begin to drop off before it hits. Believe it or not, that is what Katrina did before making landfall.

If it hits as hard as the first one, we may be doing this for a while.

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

this is the best link to see information that I know of and for discussions that have little media influence. They agree with what you say it may go through the wall recycle right before landfall.
I am here for the long run for knowing we still have 2 months of hurricane season left is an inspiration to me as well.
I am going to get listings ready for
Cf \'s minis in the next day. So many goodies i am drooling at.

Hi everyone-

Like some others here, I\'m newly posting to the forum thanks to Tracy\'s encouragement. It is also nice to know that I\'m not the only one who is shiny and new!

I am working on two waywatchers, one is finished the other about 1/2 way. I seem to have been particularly inspired... the first one turned out better than I expected, so I hope it earns a respectable donation. Unfortunately, I don\'t have the ability to take even marginally decent photos, so I can\'t post any WIP.

Just want to say that this community is an inspiration. If everyone was as kind and willing to work together as this group, the world would be a much better place. Thanks especially to Tracy for doing the incredible amount of footwork that is required to make this happen.

He will let me know what is headed our way but I thought it was great he wanted to help so he will be adopting the painters for the ones he sends should be fun for all

Vlad, I like them both. The red is my favorite, but I like that you did the reflection of the flames under the other cloak. I don\'t think the main color of the cloak stands out enough in this picture. It seems to blend into the armor.

Still, I think they\'re both great work. I still have one of these and it makes me want to paint it.

Tracy, I\'ll work on getting Schooldog to chime in. He\'s usually very busy, but he might take a minute to say hi. I know he is really supportive of this project.
