Honest tracy I have been painting look...

Well my relationship with these critters quickly turned from oooh nice to pure hate and even though they look a bit better now I am still not happy with the result so far :(

I wanted a pale flesh - don\'t like it looks too pale :(
I tried teh Reaper master series for the Greens- hated it and finished it off with GW paint not happy with that either :(

Every time I went to dot the eyes the little s**** moved their heads and ended up looking like Panda\'s :(

I made a base for the guy stood on one foot - quite happy with that :D

Anyway here are the WIP shots still a hell of a lot of work left to do on these though but any encouragement would be welcome because if it wasn\'t for time then they would have had a visit to Mr Nitromors by now.

WE-1-wip.jpg

WE-2-wip.jpg

and here is the base although not a very good shot.

Have you guessed yetI am having a rough time with these critters :D

The Way stones are terrain with no special effects but they are good obstacles in battle. And those look great I like the aging very much.
@Jabberwocky those look great as well man looks as if the troop will be getting on soon.
@War Griffon Yes I have been having a time with the eyes as well even with the Mag light. I found if I took the magic wash and mixed a bit of rose brown and brown earth and made the mix see Through like just a tinge of the ruddy color then washed the flesh and kinda filled the eyes it made them look loads better. The mix should look kinda like tea. I did 4 sets of eyes the other night and I used a trimmed down brush I cut to very few hairs and cropped short in length.
Going to work on listings today should be going up for Saturday afternoon. I noticed they have changed a 7 day listing no is a full 7 days. It was if you listed Monday the auction would end Sunday now it is Monday to Monday. Part of the overhaul I guess.
Brokenblade I hope you sell your goodies a for a bunch of money so it will take some strain off you . Hang in there and do not worry please?

Tracy, What the Heck is going on with Ebya, I had bid on one of the Auctions, I just got this email

Please be advised that the following auction:

8703231744 - WorksOfHeart The Druids Stone Diorama Reaper Miniatures

was ended early by eBay. The auction was ended due to the account suspension of the seller. All results for this auction are null and void.

Regards,

eBay Trust & Safety

Again, What is going on?
Thanks
Gin

We have written them I can not tell you we have written as many departments We could a posted a question on the bulletin board We did all but call for they say that is a no no.
We were told if you could list and get on it was not a problem. So with much worry I re-listed the box sets so to not hurt any painter. Now just a minute ago I get two emails no reference to the ones We sent saying at least 7 days and after we can appeal the process of which we already did but will do again. I am very sorry this is happening and I will do my best to sort it out but it is indeed a set back to say the least.

Tracy, so sorry to hear about the problem with the auctions and your account. I did check after reading Gin\'s post and eBay does say you are no longer a registered user

Since it takes about 30 days for a suspended account, such as yours, to be re-opened (should eBay decide to do so), I can point out that there is enough money collected for covering fees that each model can be shipped back to each painter and put up for individual auctions, with the proceeds, after fees are taken out, donated directed to the charity by the painters themselves. That way, no time is lost while waiting for eBay to restore your account and the auction monies still get to their intended charity in a timely manner.

Those who do not have an eBay account can find another painter to auction for them, a simple matter to resolve the issue in a short time without putting the whole thing on hold for an indefinately time.

I believe all accounts held by family or employees are forbidden to step in and hold auctions until eBay clears the primary account. Perhaps someone else from the painting group can step forward and take over the auctions while your account remains suspended.

The auctions should continue in a different manner so all the good works of so many talented painters can be sold as soon as possible and the money given to charity sooner than later. There are still hungry people out there.

the way i see it

all night we have been milling about the house, with the occasional \"that sucks\" or \"stupid ebay\"

Point 1 - instead of resending everything out, and then having that person re send it out...that just sounds like somethings going to get hurt. If we wrote up the HTML for you all to host your own auctions, we can send it out from here instead of risking USPS crap.

Point 2 - missionfish. granted each and everyone of you (in the US) can log into Missionfish and register and all that jazz, or you can use the aid of your choosing and send in the moneys after the auction is over, but its been my experience that auctions with the \"100% donated to Second Harvest\" sell 10 thousand times better than the average Joe auction. AND you cant put \"will be donated to charity\" in your own auction because it will be taken off ebay.

Point 3 - its all reletive...the email we got said minimum of 7 days, and if it is easily sorted out, i think it may be better to wait and see first. Granted it may take longer, but it may not. call me optimistic, but id like to have faith in something before just jumping ship.

and i would like to point out that this post was more than 4 words and in no way did it mention the \"c\" word! ;)

but in all honesty. I say we try and figure something out. we\'ve jumped though all the ebay hoops, i like being optimistic.

WoW, this whole thing sucks.
Ok having said that, I agree with a lot of what Becca said. Wait a little bit to see if they can get reinstated. I am so sorry this has happend to you guys....

Ok so lets talk worst case, what to do if you guys can\'t get reinstated, is it possible for some one here on CMoN to open an ebay account specificly for the WOH auctions? if so, can we do the auctions, and still have the minis ship from Tracy and Co? She (they) have done such a wonderful job, and worked so hard. Plus I love the photography!
Ok I was just throwing some ideas out there, I don\'t know if they are any good or not. :) but I try.
Have a good night, rest for a while and wait it out I guess.

We have a plan!!

ok, on Monday I will be contacting the people at Missionfish to see if they have any way to help get this resolved faster.

If that\'s not the case I will begin posting some of the auctions myself until we can get everything reinstated.

Tracy will continue to do her usual wonderful job with the layouts and send me the HTML to load for each one. I will just forward her the shipping amounts after missionfish is paid.

I maynot be able to handle as many as she can, but at least it will be a start.

We will get this going again!!

IMP, Nice to see you read my post and nice to see Tracy read it too. I said before in a post, I have no illusions that my painting skills would have helped this project in any way, other than to have people donate money just to have my painted mini removed:) But I do have an interest in the welfare of this project and have been keeping a close eye on its progress. That is the only reason I am trying to help offer solutions to people working on the project who are caught up in this through no fault of their own. I am sure Tracy understands the need to find alternate solutions now just in case her appeal fails.

Yes, it sucks to have an account suspended, but it is done and things will have to move on. The Works of Heart Project is not one person, abeit Tracy has gone to a great deal of time and effort, but it is really a collected effort by many people who are also giving unselfishly of their time and effort for a cause they believe in.

Your point 1 is a generous offer as far as html is concerned, but by using the auction program, most people manage just fine to get their autions up and running without resorting to html (which, contrary to what most people think, isn\'t as complicated as they fear. If I can learn it, so can anyone else who would want to use it). As far as risking USPS is concerned, the amount of money raised for fees (I calculated that as well from WotH site) is more than enough for Tracy to include priority postage with insurance AND cover every ebay and paypal fees for all the individual auctions put up under the WotH project. And I am sure Tracy would make this offer.

Point 2 is not a biggie. It cost nothing to register with Missionfish and then that \"100% donated to Second Harvest\" would be acceptable on any auction. My experience with eBay for the past 9 years has been that anyone can do it, and, unless eBay suspends an account for some valid reason, any thinking person would have no problem putting an auction up for charity using Missionfish. It may be a little more effort and that is why I suggested that another person involved in this project can step up and manage the auctions until Tracy\'s account comes, or doesn\'t come, back online.

Point 3 - yes, it is all relative. You may be the first person in the history of eBay to use the words \'eBay\' and \'optimistic\' in the same sentence :) You hope for 7 days and I think that is a fair time period for a wait-and-see, but after that, the odds of getting the account back falls rather rapidly. It is on the 8th day that other people involved in this project should seriously consider another alternative to sitting back and waiting. You are very right when you said \'I say we try to figure something out.\"

If someone steps up to take the lead in putting the auctions up again, they would just be keeping the ball rolling until this issue is settled, one way or the other. I am sure Tracy would cooperate fully with someone kind enough to help out in her absence from eBay.

And that is the way I see it...

There, you see. As I was typing, a very generous person stepped forward and volunteered his services. You are very much appreciated. Now I can go back to my courner and continuing to lurk until the next crisis:)

Tracy, you are very welcome. Having this group of hard working people stunned for a second time in two weeks is not a good thing. I will continue to follow this project extremely closely.

You have good and kind people stepping up to the plate this time. It would a crime to see their efforts go to waste for something like this, so I am hoping all of you can make this work the way it was intended.

Belive it or not I am painting... slowly though. I\'ve been quite busy lately and I don\'t have much done. I think I have been focusing to musch on painting from the inside-out and not just painting from instinct.

Second that. Painting going on, slow \'n\' steady. Which brings up some points regarding the \"ebay crisis\":
-What about painters from abroad (me :))? Could I work with/over Missionfish?
-What about painters who got parts of units from Tracy (me again :))? Selling Glade Guards in ones and twos doesn\'t seem too viable... And seeing the pace of my painting, the problem might be sorted out by the time I\'m done, so I guess I\'ll snail-mail them to Tracy anyway...

TAB and I have talked it over and the plan is to keep on going like we were before. Mail your stuff to us. Tracy will still take photos and set up the listings, maintain the web site, and we will still ship from here.
Keep in mind that tomorrow we will be getting in contact with eBay and tying to get this worked out such that we are still able to proceed exactly as we have been.
Failing that, THuff has volunteered his ebay presence to act as a proxy for the project. Hopefully it won\'t come to that.
So please, keep painting, and when you are done send them to TAB and I for processing. This should keep everything moving smoothly as it was prior to these issues.
And a huge thank you to all involved and in support of the project.

SV,
Ebay has a policy we were unaware of that considers any bid by another id having the same name and address to be an attempt to run up the price. Without knowing this, Tracy innocently bid on a couple of the items she was interested in having.

They saw this, considered it \"shill billing\" and pulled the auction. What they didn\'t do is let her know that they might pull her id a few days later. We talekd about it and after two days, considered it safe for her to repost. Three days after that, Ebay pulled all of the auctions and suspended her id.

All this after she tried multiple different methods to contact them.

I will be making calls tomorrow to try and help get things reinstated. Worst case, I will carry some of the auctions until everything is sorted out. It shouldn\'t cause any real slow downs.

Everyone should still send their minis to Tracy and she is going to do all of the auction set ups. I\'m just posting them.

Nice stuff, Tracy!!! And I hope your eBay problems are cleared up soon. Doesn\'t eBay have any phone #\'s to call so you can try to talk to a real person? (If that\'s even possible with the answering systems companies have  )

Also, just want to let you know I got the Mounted Wood Elf Lord you sent me. Holy cripes, he\'s got a lot of detail, I\'ll try to do him some justice. I\'ve started on him and his pony, removing flash (and there\'s lots of that) and filing seam lines. I\'ll keep you updated on his progress.

:D
