hello! I recently painted a mini and after sealing it, it looks like it has a transparent white \"film\" over it. it also looks like minute white dots all over it. any suggestions on what caused this or how to remedy the problem? the mini is an Incubi, which is the 2nd one i have done. did them both the same way, with same primer, paint type, paint color, and same sealer. the 1st one came out great. the 2nd one, well.... thanx for your time and suggestions!

It seems one of them has a lot of mold release still on it.. The best bet is to clean your mins before hand with hot water and soap (this is also the best time to reposition anything that got bent when they\'re warm). If it\'s really giving you problems, strip the paint and start over. Sorry if this messes up all the work you\'ve done, but sometimes trying to fix a mini is like pouring gasoline on a fire.... Hmm.. gasoline fire... (gets evil idea for OSl article.. ) :p

Looks like you used to much sealer to me... To bad for you there\'s no cure for it, just use less next time(more thin ones is better than one thick one) or strip the mini and paint it again like Chrispy suggest.

I\'ve heard that sometimes this can be repaired by spraying another thin layer on top, although luckily I\'ve never had to try this myself. Its possible that humidity may have been your problem, so try spraying your figures when it isn\'t raining/humid

was it GW purity seal by any chance, if so there has been a fair few faulty batches knocking around. so everyone beaware especially if older cans the new ones aren\'t a problem though

there was a thread dedicated to the gw white sprinkle mattcoat issue
and i believe it has nothing to do with faulty fabrication, rather the conditions of your enviroment when you spayed.
low or high temperatures can influence spay really bad. it also coult be that you didnt shake the can enought or applied the coat from a too short distance

i had that trouble once. when it happened to me, it was because i put two coats of gw varnish on it and didn\'t wait for the 1st to completely dry

The title of this thread is really annoying. \"Mini has a...\" - what? Are you trying to promote lots of views through suspense or something?

Sorry to rant, it\'s just a internet forum pet-peeve of mine (and many other people).

i don\'t know but, i ended up with a f**ked up mini when i forgot not to shake the can. that could be another problem. :flame: but yeah if the particular mini has sentimental value and you want to attempt to correct it then strip it naked and start again. though its a two way thing, repairing a mini can either give it new life, or as a Chrispy said, putting gasoline on fire.

The other day I had some paint really turn bad. I\'m not positive but I think that it was reacting to some glue near by. You might look at weather all your glue\'s, paints, and varnishes are compatable. Did you do something different with this mini than with others??
