help on ordering greenstuff

Hi guys, after exhausing the plumbing supply stores in my area, I\'m about to place my first order for greenstuff.

However, being the compulsive buyer I am, I\'d also like to scarf up some minis on the side to feel a bit better about shipping costs. Problem is, all the places I usually use for mail order do not carry greenstuff.

If anyone can suggest a good and reliable online store (pitch your own, if you are so inclined!), I would be happy to check it out and support them.

I\'d prefer a place in the USA that carries basic Kneadatite but am willing to spend a looong time searching the mini archives of places that carry alternatives.

(I apologize for something pretty off-topic, but if it helps make this more relevant this purchase IS for the Cool Mini contest! :flip: )

Right on topic...

Hi Otter.

Seeing as how you started this thread you can\'t possibly be off topic!

Look at:

http://www.heresyminiatures.com/

He is in the UK, but is a fantastic one-man band who makes some brilliant minis and sells great GS dirt cheap. Check out his Netherlord!

See what you think

Thanks, DeltaDog, but I\'m trying to support GW as little as possible these days. (We will now neglect the fact that Otter just bought herself a nice new Nightbringer.... argh :( )

Finn, I will definately check out Heresy. My roommate has the Netherlord and LOVES him - Put him together and primed him black, then put him on a shelf to look at him for a month.

Hm... I see that a new batch of the stuff just came in... where\'s that wallet...

Worth a try...

Hi Otter

I know Heresy is on the wrong continent but he does do some amazing stuff. Just for once it is really worth reading his biography (on the site). It is very amusing and extremely informative. His service is superband his minis are really cool.

No, I am not his son, or anything to do with him. I have had such good service from Andy though that I am prepared to recommend him and risk my own reputation if he screws up.

By the way, how much do you reckon that Netherlord would cost if it were a Forge World product?

Good luck:bouncy:

where are you?

If you\'re in the US (heck, maybe if you\'re not), you might try my usual source:

http://www.fortressfigures.com

Always fresh, and they carry some neat figures.

They both are in the US and have a wide variety of other things you could buy. However GS is rather expensive, you may want to look at \"apoxie sculpt\", it is MUCH cheaper, and has a quality somewhere between Miliput and Kneadatite Green Stuff. Stronger than Miliput and takes an edge much better than GS. It even comes in different colours! I\'d suggest sticking with the regular cream colour though. You can get it from

www.taxidermy.com

click on \"mounting chemicals\" and then \"sculpting epoxies\", weird site to get it from I know, there\'s no figs to buy there! But it\'s cheap stuff, if you do a search you may be able to find it closer.

i also have started to love heresy. not only do they sell really cheap greenstuff but also started to stock brownstuff which i have just bought. it\'s a little more expensive but comes in a little plastic case - very cool. haven\'t tried it yet but apparently you can use it for sculpting weapons because it has a harder edge than greenstuff

I buy all my sculpting supplies from www.sylmasta.com.

They are in England, but they are very good, and carry a lot of good stuff, including the fabled No. 5 Wax Carver.

I don\'t know their shipping rates across the big pond, but they are fast and cheap for mainland Europe.

Try www.broksarmory.com. Just email them with how many you want, they reply with a quote with shipping and you paypal them or pay via credit card on the phone. I\'ve bought there, they are very good.

They are a USA company.

Well, lets see (I\'m talking in US dolars), right after they stamp the name Forge World on the box it jumps to at least $1000, then add a couple more grand for shipping and last but not least add the $1 it cost them for all the materials.

Have fun!

I went to see what a fabled # 5 looks like, turns out I have 2 or 3 already. I think I got all the picks I own, probably close to 60+, for less than that one #5 on their site. 18Lbs for the #5? I realise it\'s popular and thus the price would go up a little, but common, it is still just a dental pick after all. I didn\'t check anything else on their site since I live in Canada and the shipping would prevent any order from them.
