Help painting solid resin Canopies

Hi all,

I\'ve currently got a couple of projects on that are solid resin models with large glazed canopy areas.

Any ideas (or better yet examples) of how to paint these and make em look good?

For Wargaming vehicles I usually paint glass solid black but I don\'t think thats going to do these justice as they\'re 28mm.

As a starter I\'m hoping to finish the \"hopper\" in a faded/grey/white scheme while I thought some sort of metallic Red or maybe burnt Orange might look good on the car?

cheers
Brent

its a shame the glass is not seperate as you could take a mould and use clear resin to make the windows,

painting the class on the car...

Perhaps use a dark blue faded up to white on the windows?

I think the best results might be using some version of SENMM - i.e. paint reflections, as though they were a dark mirror.

This was kinda my thought although probably a bit beyond my ability. I would certainly feel a bit easier about trying it with a good ref pic to copy off .... I\'ll do a search for SENMM and see what I can find ....

Coincidentally I just voted on a couple of your gallery entries so I\'m sure it\'s not :)

Ok, had a dig around and found these car pics which have some interesting glass effects on em. Sorry for all the pics but I\'d be interested to know what you guys think A) is possible and B) looks the best.

I think most of em are doable (with a lot of trial and error) The problem I have is that while the effects will look good when viewed from a certain direction when the model is moved or the viewer changes position the effect wont work ? Any thoughts on this .........
