Help! Resin or metal? Which is better?

The fumes alone given off when sawing or filing most resin will make you want to wear a mask anyways. I just use my airbrush respirator. If I can do it in a tub or sink of water I will as it holds much of the fine powdered resin in the water. But having said that I'd take resin any day over metal due to the ability to hold such fine detail. Often when going back to metal I get disappointed at some of the details just not being as crisp. Although metal figure manufacturers are like resin ones. There are good and bad in both.
I try to buy my resin figures from well known companies with good reputations. Most of these I've seen advertised and reviewed in military figure magazines. They do have fantasy and sci fi figures reviewed also. You at least get to know which companies are reputable and those who are not.
One concern I do have with resin is people making cheap knock off recasts where the quality suffers. Oh the headache of filling all those bubbles! If I want to deal with a new company I always ask those who have had experience with them.
