Help! supplier windsor & Newton Series 7 in Canada? Vancouver area preferred.

As the subject header shows...I looking to buy some Windsor and Newton Series 7 brushes...time to take the plunge. I would prefer to go to a retailer near my home in Vancouver Canada. I like to take my brushes for a \"test drive\":] I\'ve found a few sources online, in the states. I would like to buy from a canadian supplier so I don\'t get hit with both the exchange rate AND paying duty Boy has that been a bitter pill to swallow when ordering stuff online from the US. Almost doubled the price of my painter 80 rack from Vatican Ent. Well worth it mind you.:innocent:

Biggeek or any of the other locals have any ideas?

Hi mountie, I don\'t live in Canada so I can\'t exactly tell you where you\'ll find W&M series 7 brushes... An idea might be to ring up all of the leading art stores in your local area. I live in Brisbane which is a relatively small city in comparison to other major cities her in Oz yet W&N brushes are sold locally at Eckersleys an art supplies store. Best of luck, as W&N series 7 brushes are the best and make painting easier while allowing you to achieve better results.

I\'m also in Canada but I haven\'t mail ordered any Series 7 brushes. I\'ve not found a mail order store yet that carries them. However, I did find a local store that sells them. The trick is that they usually do not put them on the shelf with the other brushes since they\'re so valuable. So I suggest going to a large art supply store and asking for them.

My suggestion would be to try the yellow pages and phone around a bit. My town is much smaller than Vancouver, but I was able to find a shop that way. (Haven\'t had the money to go in and take the plunge yet, though. )

Who would I e-mail about getting plascard from Vancouver BC. Maybe even in my \'old hometown\' of Summerland? Anyone know? Bueller? Bueller?

I picked some up at OPUS.

An artists supply store on Granville Island.

I should add that I\'m talking about the W&N brushes.

They\'re behind a glass case no where near the rest of the brushes.

THANKS! I\'ve been to opus before but I didn\'t know that these were under glass so to speak and hadn\'t bothered to ask...it is my 1st day off..hi ho, hi ho, off to OPUS I go. :bouncy:

While you\'re there, make sure you pick up some brush soap. Otherwise, you might as well kiss your expensive brushes goodbye after only a short while.

Oh, and I\'m also in Vancouver. So is AavH Darkblade. We\'re actually judging a Confrontation painting competition at the Comic Shop on 4th street in Kits at the end of the month. Hope to see all you guys there!!!

WOW, some one outside of the Canadian policing community knows GRC stands for Gravel Road Cop (unoffically, offical is french for RCMP)


Kelly, I already have brush soap, at those prices, damn straight I\'m going to use it.

I\'ll be entering the confrontation painting competition but at Imperial Hobbies. The winners there will be facing off against the winners at the comic shop, but thanks for the heads up guys!

Ask the people at Michaels or another other art supply store that carries W&N to order some W&N series 7 if they haven\'t already got them. In a month there should be a few nice brushes on their racks. Or just settle w ith Loew and Cornell.

Do they keep the WN 7\'s locked up at Michael\'s? I\'ve never seen them on the floor. I\'m almost afraid to look - brushes on display at Michael\'s take a beating.

I did get a Loew & Cornell GG 6/0 and a WN Cirrus 110 0 that I like a lot there, but it took some rummaging. More like fishing for shirts at Goodwill than trying to find a decent brush.

I got two WN 7 mini brushes from Ken Bromley - www.artsupplies.co.uk. Even paying import, I got two brushes for what one would cost local.
