Should have thought of this the first time I read the post

Expresso 0 calories, 0 fat, 0 weight watchers points. Thats the way to keep the cafine buzz without the fat.

I think black coffee may be the same, can\'t remember though, I know its 0 weight watchers points.

\"Right, gaining weight the healthy way is simple mathmatics. you eat more calories than you use. this isnt to say you become a lazy ass, that way leads to nice guydom and obesity. instead, look at this:

First of all

Absolutely, under NO Circumstances WHATSOEVER, NO cardio

secondly. weigh yourself in lbs.

thridly, use these ratios to work out how much to consume per day.

Protein. 1.5g per day for every 1lb of weight
carbs: 2.5g per day for every 1lb
Fat: 0.3g per day for every 1lb

try to eat 5-6 times a day at regular intervals, it helps you metabolism.

also, work out 4 times a week. try www.skinnyguy.net or the links in the loveguide in my sig for other ideas.

finally, drink a lot of water, a gallon a day at least. this will help get the results you want. \"

Hope that helped

Thanks,

I\'ve never looked at carb and protein contents in food (I usually just check for ott fat and cholesterol), but i\'ll give this a try!

Shaz,
I might be able to help you here as the stuff I use can be used for weight gain as well as weight loss and is also used by sports people, personnally I think it is very good but others might say too expensive but when you break down the cost it isn\'t compared to all the rest of the stuff that we eat.
have a look, I won\'t contact you unless you contact me by PM.

for me the diet thing doesn\'t work, at least not alone.

About a year ago I had to stop running-n-stuff because I developed bone spurs (plantar fascitits -sp?) very painful. went fro 178lbs to 230lbs ib that year, and have become very twitchy and bitchy (make an effort not to be)

For me, When I exercise, my body craves heathier things, and I have way more energy, and defense against my natural mood shifts is better.

I read somewhere that any drink that contains caffiene does not hydrate the body very well, if you just stick to water and fruit juices (100%), and have the occaisonal sports drink when you exercise, you\'ll have better energy than caffiene could ever give you!

Last *whew* make sure you get enough sleep! When you don\'t, the body goes into stress-response, which can cause many problems, one of which is constant fatigue. I\'m done now!:)

P.S. Doc says I can start a walking routine today! yippee:bouncy:

now I\'m done, really!:D

Have you tried rolling your spur over a large (750ml) beer bottle? My mother had problems with spurs in her feet for years.
She started rolling a large (empty) beer bottle under her spur for 5-10 minutes a night, and took Silica. They were gone in 2 weeks. She recons some people take 2 months.
She used Blackmores Silica but she supposes (I just asked) any would do.

i drink plenty of water and have balanced diet (just not as many kilojoules as i used to)
how much sleep should a weight loseing bloke get?

i don\'t want to be bitter and narky (much :D) it just makes other peoples lives more miserable than they already where.

thanks again! i shall get thinnish yet!

I admire the determination...
having missed out on most of the last rugby league season due to an early injury, and the decision that I\'m just too old to keep playing (things brake a lot easier than they used to), has seen my weight creep up to 122kg.

Have you set a target weight?

:idea:Tell ya what, I\'ll race you to 90kgs!
;)

90Kg! thats a lot!
yeah mule the target was 50Kgs in one year. so i\'ll end up at 100kgs. (i am 6\'5\" so i doesn\'t look as bad as you think)
roughly 1 kg per week.

it went off a bit too quick early on and i felt like carp. but now it\'s slowed down too much but i feel better, figures.

it is getting hard to be motivated mostly because of my new moody personality (the other guy seemed unrealisticly optimistic.)

it\'s just too easy to eat over the limit in this country, almost nothing quick is on the menu.

still it\'s not impossible , i just proved it last couple of months.

make the mark 100 and i can play, 90 will kill me. :)

100kgs it is!

I must admit, the last time I was 90kg (yr 11, high school), I looked emaciated.

hadn\'t thought of that, but I\'ll probably use a tennis ball (no alcohol for me please) and try it! thank mule:D 15% of the pain I used to have is still enough to make me hesitate on the walking.

how does 100kg\'s translate in pounds (not money) ??? I\'m game if it\'s not too far.:bouncy:

tennis ball probably is probably too soft,
go for something hard and cylindrical (so it\'ll roll back and forth easy without running all over the place) like a glass coke bottle? or maybe a metal baseball bat?

I think the lack of give is important...

cool, I\'m in! starting at 235, so I have to lose 15 lbs. :|~lol

lets see, my 122kg goes to about 268lbs
and \"not so skinny\'s\" 138kg goes to about 303lbs.

Had a really nasty case of the flu over the last week, which has set me back a bit, but I\'ll give farseerlum a race to about 104kg (228lbs), but history has shown it gets exponentially harder from there...

I\'ve only once been under 100kg since I was an 18yr old, and this was after completeing a full season of league, training twice a week for and playing one game a week of gridiron, and spending two and a half hours three times a week in the gym (1 hr weights, 1hr cardio, half hr pool).

Then christmas at granmas and the off-season hit, and I ain\'t been back in that vacinity since..:~(

At the risk of starting a huge debate, have you looked into a low carb lifestyle? I\'ve been on reduced carbs for about a year and have to say that I kicked my caffeine habit and still have a lot more energy than I ever used to. I can eat satisfying portions, never have to starve myself or worry about fat content (except trans fats). Some of your moodiness, etc may come from blood sugar highs/lows. Controlled carb helps you keep your blood sugar level.

*ducks and braces for huge debates*

Though really, I\'m looking at a high protein diet and hitting the gym again.
You can\'t expect a bloke to give up his easter eggs can you???;)

s\'mores, potato candy (it\'s an irish thing), chips, and, well, all things sweet and salty are my weakness. Exercise, 9 to 11 hours a week like I used to do is the only thing that curbs my apetite for such things, can\'t wait to get back into it! :flip::bouncy::flip:

Mule, I switched to eating chocolates made with maltitol, a sugar alcohol. Maltitol doesn\'t cause your blood sugar to spike the way that normal sugar does. I too couldn\'t bear the thought of giving up chocolate-maybe next year the easter bunny will bring you some sugar free easter eggs? :)

Of course, if you meant regular eggs I\'m going to feel daft. :p

Undercooked chicken! If you\'re really serious about weight loss, nothing beats an old fashioned bacteria-induced bulimia.

If the Salmonella doesn\'t do it for you, try pork. Odds are you\'ll get a tapeworm and the same effect. The downside there is a slight possibility of Trychonosis, but Fear is the Diet Killer...
