Help me please. I just painted up my Iron Fangs and I used GW Red Gore.
Well they\'re too red. They look like litel divels and I realy need help in toning them down, any tips or should I just keep them this red and call them the litel divels, a crack arm of the Iron Fangs.

Please not, my painting quality is worse than pants. :(

See, this is why I like Vallejo: many choices instead of 3 reds.. Well, the best thing is to use Red Gore with some Scorched brown to darken it up, and maybe even a teeeeny bit of Chaos Black for really dark shadows.. Of course, you can always add Dark Angels green, because green is red\'s compliment, it\'ll darken it up and make it more \"natural\" looking. And as for highlights, I suggest using a bit of Blazing orange and Tentacle Pink so it doesn\'t look too reddish.

Hope this Helps! :p

You could also try going over your red with Tamiya clear red this will however leave it shiny so you would have to matt varnish it afterwards.
The clear cote will darken it and give it a richer look.
I tried it on some Blood Angel space marines my son wanted painting up as an experiment and it worked realy well.

Cheers for that guys. I\'ve not got any shiney clear stuff so I\'m going to go with Chrispys idea of adding brown ink.

How would it look with green though?
I\'m not good enough to experiment with stuff like that. Is there an example of this anywhere you could recomend?

If you check out my gallery, there is a couple of inquisition minis with dark reds. If you like that style, it is bulding up from a black basecoat with thin layers of scab/scar red slowly adding blood red to the mix and then using blood red as the final highlight. If you can get your paws on Vallejo\'s \'glaze medium\' this might help.
