Help with making a \"water\" base

I was considering, if I can finish what I am working on for Toronto GD, to maybe try another entry. For it, I was thinking of having the model on a round toxic waste type base. Figuring, using a water effects type substance mixed with ink would give the colour, but\"

How would I make a layer, maybe .5 cm thick, of \'water effects\' on a round GW base (large)?

You\'ll have to make a \"Well\" in which the Water effects would sit while they cured.
Then remove the well when you are satisfied.

I\'m not sure as its not something I\'ve done before but I think Plasticard with a very thin smooth application of Vaseline would be the means to stop the water effects sticking to it.

Einion and probably Max Cexwish would be the best people to talk to about this.

Leave a sticky part out to stick to the base and the bottom of the base. Tape the seam up well.

Water effects that are like white glue will not be the material of choice here. They will have to be done in a LOT of layers to get that thickness and still may turn white and cloudy.

Use 2 part casting resin (polyester) or 2 part epoxy. As you are going to make it greenish, the amber color of the resin won\'t hurt. Go with a 15-60 minute epoxy. That will give you enough time to get the air bubbles out and not have to wait all night on it to cure. Warming the epoxy up in a warm water bath (bowl of warm water) first will help it flow, but will make it set faster.

A little ink (one drop) goes a long way....

Try it in a cough syrup cup first.
