i find the lens that comes with it is ok heres a pic i took with the standard lens:

it was took at gamesday uk on sunday while it was in the cabinets and the settings were on auto with flash lol i find it better to take the pic at a distance then use the camera to crop, thats how i take mine. sometimes it doesnt turn out so well but sometimes it does.

set your camera to f/22 or somewhere around there and use a diffused flash while keeping yourself very still.

If you\'re getting a Macro lens just for minis I would recommend a 60mm Nikon macro or if your budget stretches that far a 105mm Nikon Macro.

Check out second hand prices on ebay and you might get a great lens at a bargain price.

Another (incredibly cheap!) way to turn your kit lens into a macro lens is to buy a reverse adapter. They\'re peanuts on Ebay and it works very well. Depth of field might be a problem mind. Lookee here:

Steer clear of that Sigma 70-300. They\'re not great. The Nikon 60mm is quality. Also consider Sigma 50, 70 and 105 and Tamron 90. The Siggy 50 is closest to budget. Nice lens as well.

Edit: Also consider buying an old manual focus macro lens off Ebay. I picked up a mint Pentax 50mm 1.7 for a tenner and a Pentax K to EF adapter for another tenner. You lose autofocus and auto aperture, but then again, it costs peanuts and lack of AF is less of an issue with macro photography. Some lovely old lenses out there.

These are ace...

Those Tamron 90s are \'only\' 190 quid new. You should be able to pick up one for a decent price.

Those cheap ones wouldn\'t be worth it and the better quality ones cost almost as much as a lens!

Have a try of one of those Sigma 50mm macros if you can. It\'ll do the job very well.
