Help with Reaper Pro paint Ink extender

I have seen it (ink extender) mentioned a few time\'s here in the forums, but what I have never seen is what is the purpose of it? I would guess that it serves the same purpose as watering down your inks, but I am not sure. Can it be used as a flow extender for non inks? :flip:

My experience with it is that it acts like clear ink, if you add it to a color you will get a glossy ink effect, if you add it to ink it will dilute the ink and extend open time. I mostly use it when doing ink glazes on metallics.
