Ive used white on nearly everything lately.Biggest tip I got was to use GW skull white spray.
If your brushing then several thin coats, not one thick one.

Just like black. Spray thin coats.

Primer is different than paint. It has a couple of additives that paint generally does not. It is designed to etch itself to the metal and some of them are self leveling to fill in the cracks - avoid that - it fills in the details.

I use krylon white or gray or black primer depending on what I am painting. But lots of opinions vary as to brand preference.

I use brush on white primer for every mini I do, as I seem to have a complete inability to spray on primer without destroying the mini involved. For best results do a couple thin coats, and I\'ve actually found my favorite brush on primer is made by reaper, it is very thin but covers well and holds paint just like I like.

Make sure that you use a proper undercoat designed for the task such as the one from GW stores is cos this is different from normal car primer sprays. The GW paint for undercoating contracts as it dries whereas the car spray primer expands - expansion when drying is bad for the mini cos it fills in all that lovely detail on the mini!
