Henchguy hints

I\'m almost done this crusader, and I was wondering if anyone could give me some ffedback on things to fix up, comments, etc. He hasn\'t been sealed or based yet, so it\'s possible to adjust things. It\'s a fairly big pic, so most mistakes show up pretty good. I think the hardest thing was trying to get the metals smooth, and they still look rough, at least compared to the rest of the mini. NMM is where it\'s at...

And sorry for the big pic, 56k\'ers, I feel for you. I have 56k right now, and it was a piss-off loading it.

Nah! Don\'t like it. Scrap it and start again.;):p

Sorry Owen couldn\'t resist the joke.

It\'s looking Ok but there are a couple of points. There is White /Highlights showing at the tips of his fingers in the gaps between the fingers where is should be dark. Also it looks as if there is some over paint by the chain on the cloak. These caught my eye and I think need to be addressed.

Cheers.

The edge on the shield isn\'t straight (there\'s a little silver bleed) and the dark robes could use another highlight or two, but apart from that it looks real good. Wish I knew how to tie in colors like that...

Thanks guys, done and doner....I\'m cleaning up the metals a bit, like the shield edge, sword, etc. Mike, I think that was partly bleed, and partly gloss shine, so I gave it a coat of dull cote (Yes, I have it now, and yes, it\'s wonderful)

@U-4...I just used lotsa matte extender (not retarder) and furious mixing.

EDIT: Grrr, I\'m having trouble making the metallics look smoother. It\'s nmm for me from now on.

I think I found this link somewhere here on CMON, but since I can\'t remember where...

Check out the tutorials section; he does a great job on glazing metallics. I don\'t know if you\'ve seen this before, but I wasn\'t able to get smooth metallics until I read this.

Okay, thanks guys, I cleaned up the metals a bit, did some more glazes, and did a bit more highlighting on the cloak...seems to be done, although the finished pics will have to wait till I get home.
