Looking at the model, I imagine it might be a bit of a paint to tape it off, but it would probably be worth it for the ease of painting the checkers afterwards.
Had I been you, I would have probably based in black/white. Taped down the cuff/sleeve/whatever that is. So you\'d have a vertical piece of tape covering half the cuff/sleeve and another piece of tape covering the mini or the outside of the sleeve depending which half you covered. Then I\'d paint the other colour in horizontal brush strokes on the exposed half in between the 2 pieces of vertical tape.
Um...if that makes sense then good. In your case you\'d have to place the tape edge between the squares already painted I suppose. Anyway, after you do one side, let it dry, if it needs another coat give it a go, let it dry, then when you\'re happy with one dry side remove and repeat on the other side.
I dont know how flat that surface is, but even if it\'s fairly uneven you can do this just so you have a guide. You can get painters masking tape, which you\'d probably want to use, it has a low tac so it wont rip the paint off the mini, at DIY type shops, paint stores, art stores etc. Can get it down to a 1/4 inch width around here. I\'d suggest getting one that\'s labelled as \"low tac\" just to be safe, some aren\'t so low tac and chunks of paint go missing, some hardly stick to the wall under their own weight.
I think she needs big red lips and dark purple eyeshadow \")
