lol! Great minds lop! I already have the kit because I was thinking the same thing. With the model horse show and school, I haven't had time to do anything with it yet but it's sitting here ready to go. ;)

If it's the same rotary tool I've got, I'd steer clear of it. I tried pulling the catalog number, but the tool itself appears unmarked. Looking on their website, it's more or less the same. Colors have changed in a few parts. Anyway, while it does work and do the job, it's not well balanced at all. It'll send vibrations into your hand. I had to grip tightly it to keep the chatter down. I didn't have trouble using it, as it didn't bounce around, but a real Dremel was noticeably much more comfortable when I got one.

Hey Pegazus! Thanks for the info. I already have a real dremel so it's really the 80 attachments I'm looking at. It wouldn't be my primary tool I was just looking for something that has a little less power because even on low, and the fact my dremel is one of the smaller ones, it can still be too much tool for the job sometimes.

It may be less power, but the RPMs are up there and there is no adjustment to the speed. On/off only. And it actually falls in the RPM range of my Dremel stylus. The HF one is 8k-18k RPMs, and the stylus was 5k-25k.

If it's the accessories you're after, it would probably be money better spent buying one of the 188 or 249 piece kits. I did buy their 50 piece diamond set, and have nothing bad to say about it.

Top it off, they print 20% off coupons like they're going out of style.

Yeah, the Dremel humongous minimum rpm is actually one of the reasons I almost never use it on mini's. I have been staring at that Dremel Stylus pistol-gripped thing though. Is that any good and more manageable?

If you can't spring to a rock tumbler then your Dremmel with a polishing clothe wheel and some decent automotive polish should bring back the shine to a cut surface.

That's the one I've got, the little battery powered one. Never had the original Dremel, so can't compare. So, over to their website. Looks like the Stylus is one of the lowest speed ones you can get. Any of the adjustable speed tools look to get down in the 5k RPM range. Noticed that the single speed tools are all around 35k RPM, and I'd be scared for sure to ever go at a mini with that.

dremmels okay if you use the right bit also it pays not to hold the bit on the hole for too long that way you avoid the melting effect i would usual establish the hole then jab the bit in repeatedly for no more than a second at a time, tops also a glass of water to dip the bit in and cool it, dont forget to oil it afterwards

Haha yeah - Elly was yelling at me the other day for not visiting since September or something. I think there's about an inch of dust covering my painting table. I keep meaning to get back to it, and the urge is getting stronger, but time is very scarce still. I have missed you all though, so I may sneak on here at work once in a while and take shots at Cass.

Thanks SLM! Wow! Those things are pricey. Too bad I didn't know about this kind of thing when my dentist retired. I know he sold everything and I might have picked up some tools cheap. lol!

So when a patient walks into your dentist room, he can see you sitting with your back to the door, bits of greenstuff, plastic and metal flying everywhere. 'Sit down I'll be right with you.'

I'd be a bit sceptical when lying reclined in the dentist's torture seat and seeing the drill pass overhead with bits of mini hanging of it...
On the other hand, I guess greenstuff could be used to fill a cavity...

I am sure if i had it going 35000 rpms I would take off my finger maybe more. I have a cordless dremel I got from walmart. I also have a corded dremel extension cable that connects up to my mini grinder. and it goes 10000 rpms. I find it goes to fast for my tastes.
