Mmmm...hurricane season. I remember dealing with those in Hawaii. But the names for the hurricanes over there are stranger. :D

Looks to me like I\'m more likely to get wet from Cindy than you are :D And Dennis looks like it might just be a glancing blow. OF course, it\'s real early yet.

Yepper. Not one of the things that I miss about living in Hawaii. Went through two hurricanes and I have no idea how many other warnings and watches.

I don\'t envy you your hurricanes, airhead. Not to belittle your troubles, but every part of the world has some flaw - I moved from Tornado Alley to Volcano Zone 15 yrs. ago. There\'s a volcano right in the middle of Portland. It\'s supposed to be extinct, but how can the scientists really know? Humans have only understood how volcanoes work for a century or so.

True...I forgot that the Western US portion of the \"Ring of Fire\" is in my backyard now. That and we\'re just waiting for the next \"big one\" as far as earthquakes go. At least you can see hurricanes coming. :p

Living in \'earthquake country\', it amazes me how people FREAK out about earthquakes. On the east coast, EVERY YEAR you get numerous nuclear strikes in the form of hurricanes and the midwest gets many, many tornadoes. Yet us having the books on the shelves shake a bit once every 5 years and OHHH, how HORRIFYING. I\'ll take earthquakes ANYDAY over what you poor blokes have to put up with.To you eastcoasters.............good luck. Keep safe, keep dry.

Don\'t forget those wonderful mudslides you guys get, and the forest fires... oh, and the midwest gets flash floods and we in the North east get Blizzards too... and North-easters... But you guys even get a volcano every hundred years or so... but then again hawaii gets them all the time...

What a wonderful country we all live in. :D

;)lol

Yes we have hurricanes every year. I still have a huge hole in my roof from the last batch (we lost 6 trees (big trees))

Oh and sniffles, we can get tornadoes too :p

How can scientists know that the moon isn\'t a giant alien spaceship powering up it\'s gun to destroy planet earth. After all, we know nothing about aliens... Maybe we should all move to Jupiter ;)

You guys make me feel so much safer, here in Toronto. We get the odd thunder-storm. We\'ve had... umm... two tornado warnings in the last 15 or so years... and they never touched down around here... or even within 50 km of where I live.

Oh, and occasionally we feel a faint tremble from a far-off earthquake.

I can\'t think of anything worse we\'ve had in a long time.

Dudes... it\'s not the ring of fire we need to fear, it\'s Yellowstone. That\'s one giant volcano... and when it goes the west coast\'ll fall into the pacific!:~(

If it goes off there wont be a west coast to fall anywhere :)
And extinct means it hasnt gone off for the last X number of years. It does not mean its dead. Its just good to tell people that.

Ah this England,
this Blessed Isle!

We\'re relatively lucky, just rain, snow and overcast skies. Our earthquakes minor, our hurricanes very rare.

Hope you guys & gals on the east coast will be Ok.
