Heroes....TV got good again

I preface this with the statement that I have been a comic lover since I was 10. Tonight NBC premierd Heroes. When I first saw the preview for this show I got chills and I was hoping it would not suck.

The show hit with both barrels. The premise is superhuman abilities exisit and they are another chain in our evolution. The show takes the best elements of Lost with intertwined characters and Unbreakable (without Shamalayn\'s Ego making the movie drag on endlessly). If you ever read Astro City the elements are very similar.

I hope this Show lasts.

I watched it last night. It shows promise!
The main thing now is keeping it on, as the Networks are quick to dump anything that doesn\'t really \'fit\' wit the rest of their line-up (as Fox did with Firefly).

Yeah, I had this on last night while painting....

Not bad.

I really liked the Japanese \'time-bending\' guy. He was cool.

If you missed it on Monday night NBC is showing it again on Tuesday night. It really was good and worth the wait. Then again i also was a comic geek sicne a little boy so i\'m all jazzed for this kind of show. I just hope NBC doesn\'t kill the show before it really starts picking up. The japanese guy was cool but i\'m also digging the blond chick, very darkchyd like.

yeah, I was generally impressed my the show, and seems very promising, I hope it finds an audience, I think I\'d keep watching.

I am fearful of the show being canned. They have a horrible timeslot and lead in for the show.

Perhaps I am wrong but I do not see the same type of people who watch this show being the same people who watch Studio60 or Deal or No Deal.

hah, I think for me, as long as it\'s not a reality show, crime/medical drama, or soap opera convered to prime time, I\'ll give it a shot, lol

I actually really really enjoyed it.

All the characters being intertwined as they are is really pretty well written.
BUT whats up with the girl in the mirror? Whats her power? That was the only part where I got confused.

I only saw part of it and am going to watch it again tonight, but it looks promising...which means it won\'t last.

Becca - I think she\'s got \"projection\", where she can be 2 places at once. There\'s a police officer who can read minds coming up in the next episode.

Bilocation would be being 2 places at once in toto.

I love the \"anything is possible\" world of superheroes. Some friends once wanted to do a GURPS Horror RPG so we all made monster creatures. I made a werewolf. Then the GM changed his mind and decided he\'d rather do GURPS Supers. Everyone else made new characters but I just gave mine the ability to duplicate himself. One minute suave charming guy with every reaction bonus in the book: next minut 2 ferocious fanged beasties!

and think of what having two selves could do for her internet stripteases!

I was just trying to give Becca an idea of what that woman can do, from what I\'ve heard. Maybe it\'s just a mirror thing.

My parents were over for dinner awhile back and my dad and I were discussing what kind of super power would you want...and he said the usual: flying or strength or invisibility.

I said telekinesis.

This all stemmed from a horrible news story about a man who raped and beat a young girl.

He was talking about how he could pay the b@st@rd back for what he did.

I told him yes, that would work, but then you\'d end up in jail. With telekinesis and a thorough study of the human body, you can simply close off certain blood flows, airways, etc. Death by natural causes.

Sounds morbid, but I\'m in a mood today, so there you go.

I like to help people. Too much, sometimes. I\'m a doormat. But there is that part of me that sees news stories like that and thinks \"If I could just...\"

I haven\'t watched the show yet, so I just skimmed the thread, but there are three more opportunities to catch it on three different stations. I don\'t know if they\'ll all keep showing it or if they\'ll move times or days. I\'ve got my TiVo season pass set to the SciFi airing, so I\'m hoping they keep up with it.

10/02 11:05pm USA

Interestingly I think Ugly Betty is also being broadcast on two or three stations.
