I don\'t think I\'m up to the speed painting thing, my version of Speed-painting is one a year. (A bit faster than Supervike, I think) 
I\'m definately down for some D&D, though, funny horns or not.

We really did try to keep the \"time changes\" in mind, it\'s just an awfully big world!
And to answer the D&D game questions:
1. It will be Dungeons and Dragons 3e, for reasons detailed below, and an adventure of my own making.
2. No one needs a webcam.
3. It is going to be a chat-type arrangement (that what RPGs are after all, conversations and storytelling with dice to keep it fair)
4. I have been told by a friend about a program called OpenRPG, which you can check out here. It\'s open source, can support any game system*, and best of all, it\'s FREE!!
Admiteddly, I have yet to use the program , though it looks quite promising! If anyone has used it and could comment, let me know your thoughts.
If nothing else, I would like to do a \"trial run\" before the con, to see how it flows and get the hang of it. If anyone is interested, please email me, and let me know what would be a good day/time for you.
*the list of what\'s supported is impressive, and it can be customized. The \"presets\" for D&D are for 2e or 3e, but not 3.5 (my preference). But rather than spend more time than I have tweaking the program to 3.5, I\'d rather spend the time working on the adventure/the con itself. Besides, the differences between 3 and 3.5 aren\'t all that amazing anyway, IMO.
Also, I\'d really like to include some kind of mini/wargames as well. Does anyone know of a good way to integrate that on an online, global format? What about card games, board games, etc. ?

I have already tried to use OpenRPG once. Many players had technical problems, so make sure everyone installs it NOW and learns at least a little how to use it. I know I was really confused. Also, it needs a python interpreter, probably noone will have one - just a heads-up.
I don\'t exactly know the rules for D&D, but I have a pretty good idea - I might have to... borrow the rule book from someone I met on the internet....
I always to play D&D, I just love the clerics! Depending on when you\'ll play, I would really like to join in.
For miniature wargames, I suppose OpenRPG would also work OK for Confrontation, as most movement and range values are a multiple of 2,5cm (which could then be \"One Square\"). I don\'t know if it would be that fun though...

Well, appart from taking a pic of the terrain or using a Flash based application and each player states her/his moves, I don\'t see any other way to go about a classic wargame. On the other side, you could always arrange to play something like Dawn of War with only people from CMON. I imagine something similar could be done with Warcraft III or World of Warcraft.

I just heard from at least one of the SAP people. Valander thinks the idea is kinda neat, so we may be able to get together a few of us.
We may do the taking pictures occasionally thing instead of the web cam. As Valander pointed out, watching people paint can be as exciting as watching paint dry.

they have to get approved first...but the second they are we will give you all a preview...
if they arnt approved we will come up with a new design and show you anyway

Hello everyone...
i just wanted to clean up some confusion!
Boys with Balls is just like last years competition...
it dosent matter if youve shown the picture around, if its won competitions or if you painted the mini 20 years ago...all that matters is that its a...boy.....with balls (visiable or not...)

Whilst in the midst of preparing your doo...whoops, I mean the adventure...it occured to me that I have no idea who wants in on the action, how many of you there are, etc.
So if you would like to play send me an e-mail with the following:
Who you are (CMoN nick and real name)
When you can play (in EST)
What kind of character you\'d like to be playing (Race and Class, NO evil characters!)
For this to work I\'m going to need to figure out a time when we can get the best participation, so giving me a range of times when you can play is essential.
It helps me plan if I know what characters you\'ll play so I can tailor the pain, I mean game, to the players.
And it would help me if you e-mailed HERE with the info instead of just posting, so I can get all the info in one place (my inbox).
