As suggested by Rick Bennett of Bennett\'s Palette, HerseyCon 05 is having an art contest as well.

A two dimensional free-for-all of creativity for everyone to enjoy.

Check out the convention headquarters for details, under \"events\".

Can they be... incompetent to the point of being functionally malicious? Or maybe just really, really rude? Or sinister, but so lazy that they never actually DO bad things?

You\'re killing me,man. No evil alignments, i.e.: No brawling/backstabbing/killing/stealing from other characters. I\'m not trying to be a killjoy, I\'m trying to foster a team-oriented game of good (you folk) vs. evil (me) rather than officiate a session of inter-player shennanigans.

The plan is this:

Everyone who wants in should send me the info I asked, and download the OpenRPG program from here.
You will also need a \"mini\" for the game, a jpeg or gif of your character to represent you on the map. (Should be 50x50 so everything is kept somewhat to scale). You can use any image, but I figure that either a photo of a mini on a transparent BG would be good, or even your CMoN avatar could work.

To reduce possible confusion and/or help to plan the adventure, I will generate character statistics (in OpenRPG usable form) based on the requests you make. The character\'s personality, etc, are still up to you, I\'m just going to do the stats so everyone gets an even playing field.
So if you are D&D savvy, give me details (feats, skill prefs, spell prefs, etc.) or if you don\'t know/don\'t care you can leave it to me. (And despite all of my smack-talking about PC deaths, I really am fair and will make you good, well-balanced characters, ask the family)
In either case, once I\'ve got the stats made, I\'ll e-mail you a set to review and we can hash out minor details if needed.

Keep in mind that this is going to run on a first-come first served basis, as there are only so many folks I can run at once. I\'m thinking of an 8 player max, but if I get overwhelming response, or due to time zone differences, I may run two games. We shall see how many sign up and when they can play.

And if you are a D&D newbie, e-mail me and we\'ll get you squared away. With the exception of maybe a half-dozen folks, I\'ve taught the game to all I\'ve played with. No worries.

And for those who have never used OpenRPG, or have looked at it and were overwhelmed, I imagine we can arrange a \"demo\" before the games begin.

Boyz with Ballz - any male mini from any time period, can be shown on other places, just a picture of a guy

timed- before picture after picture, paint for an hour...pretty straight forward on the website

2-d - not 3-d art :duh:

I can\'t be around the 24th for I\'m on holliday then. But I do think I can manage to enter a Boy with ballz for the painting competition, a picture with me wearing a costume for the costume contest and a 2d artwork for the art contest.

Am I allowed to do so eventhough I might not be able to log in on the day itself?

ah..aum.......would it be alright if I entered an \"old picture\" of me & horse in the costume contest...it doesn\'t have to really be in the running, just to be part of the fun:duh:

Sure (as long as you wernt like in 3rd grade) thats the great thing about this contest...just like in the BwB you could have painted the mini months ago, heck you could have won the effin GD with it, but it is still able to be a part of BwB...

same goes for costumes...as long as it hasent been like 40 years...you should be good. :flip:

Well, appart from taking a pic of the terrain or using a Flash based application and each player states her/his moves, I don\'t see any other way to go about a classic wargame. On the other side, you could always arrange to play something like Dawn of War with only people from CMON. I imagine something similar could be done with Warcraft III or World of Warcraft.

Actually there is a way but everybody will need to download the program and that is where it will start getting complicated at the moment it is still in a trial stage but there is a lot of feed back and ideas and several people \\\\\\I know seem to think it is OK probably a bit late now for this year but might be worth looking into for next year :D here is the link to the group for those that want to try it all you need can be downloaded from here http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/littlecyberwars/?yguid=134047350

Also there is a jarva program (I think its a jarva program anyway for online blood bowl done on simular lines all you need is the download and the rules and as GW specialist games does an online living rule book then you are away :Dlol
I have misplaced the link for the blod bowl down load but as soon as I find it or get a hold of a friend that knows the link then I will post here for all interested:D

For all of you that purchased T shirts Please notice: We posted them from the grand old city of Saint Augustine, FL so that you will get the shirts on time... Yes indeed we went to St Augustine this weekend first vacation time away from this house in 2 years :bouncy: Your shirts are well rested and in flight to you.

BTW Cool bloodbowl link similar to what we are going to do with the D&D.
