Ok, so I havent had a lot of time for painting lately, but we\'ve had a rather rare visitor to my neighborhood -

By my research its a Yellow Crowned Night Heron -

According to what I have been able to find they are extremely rare here - and this one is living in a drainage ditch. Go figure.

I don\'t normally care for birds very much but if this one dosnt\' crap on my car then it\'s OK in my books.

Lloyd,
Did you take those photos? Those are really good. Herons are notoriously hard to get close to.
The second shot is excellent around the eye, and the action flight shot is also particularly nice.

Yup- across the street from my apartment - gonna play with the settings on my camera now to see if I can get some better shots.

Reported him to Texas Parks and Wildlife as a Rare/Unique Bird siting and learned that they are uncommon visitors to the area, so I\'m kinda stoked. Figure he\'s worth about 500 xp as a photographer.

Did anybody (Bill you probably did) see the story of the really rare bird in England somewhere which a load of birdswatchers flocked (hehe) to take photos of it, then it got eaten lol
