Why??? Ummmmm, it just popped into my head and I was struck - \"OH MAN, THAT IS JUST TOO COOL AN IDEA TO NOT DO!!\" That\'s where some of my coolest ideas come from....wherever \'there\' is.:bouncy::cool:???:)

Instead of handles in the back it\'s going to have exhaust like these.

It\'s going to have a VEEERY simplified version of one of these under it, with the exhaust\'s going up and back to the main.

hm, well pretty good model, but it has a bitter aftertaste... :( Sorry, but also it\'s \"just\" an orc I think the wheelchair scenery is tasteless.

I think you should paint whatever minis you want, it\'s not any more tasteless than all the other orks with prostheses and war wounds. It fits with the orky personality that this guy would be charging right back into battle, too.

I can see Crackpots point to an extent, some would find it a little uncomfortable. However, in this hobby its fairly commonplace to sculpt/paint corpses. Is that not slightly more disturbing than disability?

Anyway, good work, i think it will look good with the engine and exhaust set-up

Whilst I can kind of see crackpot\'s point I can also see another side to the argument that the fact that there aren\'t many disabled minis out there could be viewed as discrimination. I have two mates in wheelchairs and I think they\'d find him freakin\' hilarious. It\'s only a problem if the individual makes it one.

\"grand-pa orc... will you tell us the story again of how you lost your legs?\"

Do orcs have little orcs kids? ???

Nice work on him so far, I\'m sure this\'ll turn into a fantastic piece

if we can deal with a dead baby\'s face on this site, then i think we can handle an ork amputee in a drag racing wheelchair.

thats my opinion.

This brings to mind the movie Kids and the memorable \'song\'...

\"I have ... no legs!\" \"I have no... legs!\"

Interesting concept. You\'ve got to figure with a might makes right society, the Orc who still gets buy with no legs has got to be one bad ass mofo.

IF someone should be offended by this piece, let that person come forward and we can have this discussion then. It seems fairly pointless to discuss wether or not someone MIGHT get offended by something. That sort of thing only leads to self-censorship and a wet blanket put on people\'s creativity.

Sometimes you inadvertently offend someone or hurt someone\'s feelings, yes. If that happens, a short explanation of one\'s ideas and a \"sorry\" usually solves the problem. Let\'s not get bent out of shape even BEFORE anything like that happens.

I think this piece could become very cool! I love the idea with the exhaust pipes.

:drunk: as one in a wheelchair you have my seal of approval, don\'t forget to add a seat belt and maybe a helmet ....kind of like a freaky version of Hell\'s angels

Bingo.

.....I guess this thread dovetails with one in General Discussion about responses. Ain\'t going to add to the mash. I just don\'t \'do\' the whole PC thing and BTW...I am disabled.

The whole idea of an unstoppable Ork (I like ork\'s to begin with) was cool, I REALLY liked the hotrod wheelchair idea.

I forgot to add that the armrests are going to be machine guns like these...probably.

I had considered having one of his leg\'s be a cannon but it seemed to be too much. One of my early teachers told me that a good artist knows what to leave out. A good maxim.

@wiccanpony - ahh fair maiden, your blessing rest\'s gently upon this pointy little head of mine. I had thought about the safety belt but it seemed too sensible for an ork. I might \'rope him in.\' Haaa just had a flash of inspiration - DUCT TAPE!!

I vote for a rather rusty length of chain.

\'Nother vote for the rusty chain here too! As for the subject, I admit it\'s not entirely to my taste but that\'s because it\'s an ork, not because its an ork in a wheelchair. Doesn\'t mean that I think you shouldn\'t have made it! A technical point - shouldn\'t the ends of his stumps be more rounded? I tried to find a relevant picture, but unsurprisingly people seem to be a bit shy about it. There were lots of dog amputees, though. And one chinchilla.
