Have just started this one, and thought I\'d do a stesp-by-step WIP log in the hope of getting some constructive criticism and feedback from you guys!

OK, so here she is, just primed...

Then having seen OrkyDave\'s maginificent red cloak, I decided to try his method, certainly on either her top or skirt, maybe both, so have \'first coated\' accordingly...

Not sure if I\'ll do her top and skirt in the same colour- most of these seem to be painted with different colours top and bottom, so for the sake of being different, I may do them the same... any thoughts anyone?!

More to come as it\'s done:D

I had a horrible feeling you were going to say that!

Off to get the files out now then...!

I know you probably feel very reluctant to fix that mold line at this point, but when the mini is done you will feel much better about it than if you still had that mold line there.

I\'ve done my best on it guys... but my files aren\'t fine enough to get in the gap really... have done a search of the site for advice on what files to get and I\'m off shopping now:rolleyes:

I know I\'ll be happier without that line.. but... grrrr!;)

I think the skintone looks nice so far.. a bit pinkish but so are some people! :) I often try to paint the eyes before finishing the face so that I can clean up any mistake in an easy manner. I like the colour of the dress as well.. it looks like the black base is showing through though. Use several layers so you get an even coat to highlight from.

Heresy Miniatures sell a set of diamond needle files. They are absolutely fantastic! And they\'re small too. That\'s money well spent if there ever was any.

i\'d second that - the ones i have are ace. i believe ritual is also prone to using emery paper superglued to a cocktail stick...

Thanks for the tips about the heresy files- I\'ll look into those next payday;) Managed to pick up a set in Focus DIY (as mentioned somewhere in the forum!) for next to nothing and they\'re much finer than the Homebase ones I was using... though still not fine enough to get right to the top of that arm... now what did I do with the cocktail sticks...?!!

Should have some more photos of this later or tomorrow- have done loads of work on it:D

Unfortunately I don\'t have time to take \'daylight\' photos at the moment, so this doesn\'t really do it justice, but it\'s an update at least....

As ever, comments, critique and tips more than welcome!

Thanks for the comments Jondalar- skirt and skin far from finished... you know me and my obsession with layering;) Had noticed the left thumb:rolleyes: there\'s always SOMETHING I notice when I take pics!

As to how many villagers I have left to do for my \'grand diorama\'... this is only the FIRST one, so um.... eight left... should keep me busy for a while:D

Considering how long it\'s taking me to do this one, you might have a long wait for the others Charlie:rolleyes:

More updated photos tomorrow, hopefully!

Latest pic- have the skirt and top got enough highlight? Not convinced by my colour scheme, puts me in mind of snow white:rolleyes:

Please ignore the bits that need cleaning up, and the amateur photography, but any other comments welcomed:D

Its looking great so far :) I\'d maybe go for a final highlight on the red, just on the very outer edges.

As for the colour scheme, I think its great. Now if you had went for a white top, I would have though arghhhhh snow white.

Yep! Fine-grit wet and dry paper cut in small wedges and glued to the stick makes a very nice tool for smoothing out rough surfaces. It\'s too weak for removing mold lines usually, but is excellent for doing the last touches.

@Ayla
This is looking really good. Neat and good colours! I think you can go further with the highlights pretty much all over the mini. Consider light direction and paint further highlights where the light would fall (upper areas and edges, preferrably).
