Meh, since the radio series and the books are much different also, I look at it as keeping the spirit of Douglas Adams alive, and the movie definately had the Douglas Adams spirit.

There can never be one definative Guide.

I\'m surprised you thought the Arthur was exactly how you imagined him, even though the character was specifically written for the guy who played him on the radio and in the mini-series (and now voiced Marvin I believe - haven\'t seen it).

little do I know...

I really know nothing of the whole series, although I loved the look of the movie from the trailers.

For instance, I thought YOU were Zaphod, I didn\'t realize he came from the books.

lol

But, it shall all be rectified, as part of my wifes Mother\'s day gift, the kids and I got the \'omnibus\' edition of the series. My wife is enjoying it, and I will read it when she is done.

Someone was just talking with me and we deduced the ne wmovie is akin to someone taking the 6 Star Wars movies and condensing them into 1 movie that is less than two hours long. Of course, in order to do this, they need to change many parts of the story to make it feasible. The more I think about it, the more I dislike the new movie immensely...
