Hi there, I've just joined up. My name is Stuart, I'm from England, and I used to paint a while ago and am trying to get back into things.

there are a few names I recognise on here an I'm glad to hear are still painting. I don't have anything to show as yet and haven't painted anything really in the last 5 years or so. I'm after ideas on how to get things going again and back into the side of the hobby again.

Hi !

Hey stu how are you my name is John margiotta"bloodasmedium" and I've been on here for the past few years. How to get back into things-wow where to start the start. Ide say there are models that all artists specialize in by the simple fact it's what they like. Along with what skills that are there fortes. I would start with the models and genre that 1) you enjoyed painting when you were into things.and 2) something that you've always had a preference for. For instance if let's say you've always were good at painting purple and because of that you liked to paint riders of slaves it's here where I would start up again. And I'm talking solely of single 28mm models.no dioramas , no big earthy kits that are complicated basically a 28th model that you've always liked along with the techniques that you've feel you've mastered to produce that great model. Here is where Ide start and Ide start a w I p so 1 you get good constructive criticism and 2 you can be obliged to finish it as this acts as motivation to finish it as well. Hope this helps. Welcome back stuart.

Hi Stuart! Seconding what BAM said, I definitely recommend getting a WIP thread started here. I find the feedback to be super motivating and encouraging, moreso than actual submissions, and there's a pretty wide range of skill levels reflected in the forum so there's no reason to be shy.

Hey Stuart! Figured I'd say hey as I'm new to posting here too... I've been painting for almost a year now and have started branching out to other forums to make more contacts and gain more experience. So as a fellow new guy... Welcome!

Cool, thanks for the welcome guys. I finally gave a model prepped and hope to slap some paint on it this week if work doesn't take to much out of me
