Hi everyone, I've been a lurker for months reading posts and looking at the amazing work people create here, So I thought it high time to introduce myself.

A little history first :) I became interested in GW back in 1991 back when they had 'sales' yep that's right it doesnt seem to happen anymore... It was a time when GW was'nt just focused on the two main systems, Epic was around, Space Hulk, Man O War, Mighty EMpires etc...Mike Mcvey was establishing himself in the Eavy Metal Team and White Dwarf was worth reading from back to front lol. Istill by White Dwarf but it's not a patch on it's early days!

Gaming aside what I really want to concentrate on is my painting, I can paint to a good tabletop standard but would like to progress my skills further into NMM and such, I have a long way to go before I reach the majority of standards here but I know I can do it with practise.

Hi,

Welcome to the forums! As an existing lurker you'll likely already know there is a host of talent on the forums and loads of information already on here about NMM, get a few WIP's on and you'll soon be getting loads of useful comments on how to improve :)

Welcome! You can actually learn so much just from observing and lurking and watching videos on Youtube. I had a period where I didnt paint a blind thing but just enjoyed the work of others, read a few tips etc. The next mini I did I found considerably easier than before and turned out more nicely than the last. Visit the pages of the top people here and you will see how its really done, but be sure to use that as inspiration rather than letting the feeling of "I could never do that!" sink in though!! I can honestly say that setting your brush down from time to time, kicking back and seeing what everyone else is up to is very refreshing.

Thank you for the warm welcome, I'm working on some mini's at the moment Typhus, the plastic Vampire Counts Necromancer and some Mouslings :) I'm hoping to get a WIP thread up soon. The quality of models I have seen here does'nt put me off or doubt my own abilities it only makes we want to try harder to get upto the standard I see here.
