awesome though:)

They\'re not minis, I suppose, but collectable figurines. In the context of his paintings, they are really disturbing. They\'re based on metaphors and symbolism from the 1400\'s and some of them don\'t make much sense anymore.

You should check out Bosch\'s Garden of Earthly Delights triptych. The guy was about 400 years ahead of his time. He makes Salvador Dali look like, uh, Winslow Homer, I guess.???

I would love to see someone do these in pewter. (hint, hint)

In that case you may like this figure from the das schwarze auge (dsa) range: http://www.hobbyproducts.com/images/html_en/17044.htm

It\'s my favourite demon model and could come straight from Bosch\'s drawings.

I\'ve put the subject in the choices list of VIP but not sufficient takers yet.

Bye, Ming-Hua

P.s. thread on this over at frother\'s http://www.frothersunite.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6183&sid=55b3c7c0a0e16353ca2bec32caecb750

Nice, I would prefer to see some of his more morbid stuff though, I think they have more impact than his surreal characters.

I have laways loved Hieronymous Bosch. These are a bit too pricey though and I would have a hard time convincing my wife to let me display them anywhere.

Hey! That looks like my dreams.

No, I\'m fine. It\'s just that all work and no play makes me a dull boy.

Bosch and Breughel\'s Hell monsters are scary, but Goya\'s scary stuff is creepier to me in a lot of ways because it comes from the atrocities Napoleon\'s troops commited when they invaded Spain. It\'s more visceral and I can relate to it more. This is the creepiest painting I have ever seen and I had over 40 credits in Art History in college.

I\'ve been a Hieronymus Bosch fan since I was a small kid (and learned he and I have the same name :D). I always drew monsters and such when I was small and the teachers were worried about my psyche haha. They said \"Jeroen\'s drawings are twisted like Jeroen Bosch paintings\".

It would be pretty cool to see proper paintable mini\'s made.

Demon, not devil. Or you may miss it in the catalogue. I\'ve got the model and it\'s quite nice. The only thing that is a shame is that the back is rather bare.

I\'m a bit uncultured when it comes to art history.

I really do like this quite a bit. Bizarre, creepy. I\'ve been seeing more of \'Bosch\'s\' paintings of late. I\'ve been reading HP Lovecraft, and understood he took some inspiration from the work, so it has piqued my interest.

I need to look up Goya\'s stuff now too.

This damn miniature hobby of me is going to culture me whether I like it or not!!

ps...is that why your name is Hieronymus, in reference to the painter??

Those are seriously excellent. Never really been a fan of Bosch but out of the context of the paintings these figures are very interesting in their own right.

I am now seriously considering doing my own line of Jackson Pollack minis (I reckon I could just about tackle the sculpting ^^)

Goya... incredible painter!

apologies...

Could you explain Jackson Pollacks\' work? I\'ve only heard of him. On just a preliminary look at his stuff....it just looks like a bunch of paint splattered onto a canvas.
