My fourth \"post cmon\" mini, this website inspired me to go beyond tabletop painting and get down to trying all the difrent techniques I see when I browse the gallery.
also my fourth attempt at nmm

Now that I finally have a camera capable of making Makro pictures I can post my own work and hope to get some comments from you guys.

Wow the NMM is i fantastic on the breatplate and the greave. I thought it was metal there for a moment. Cheers.

thanks, I redid the nmm of the sword a couple of times and am still not so pleased with it.

I use a wet pallet which works like a dream for most colours, but I do have some difficulty with white paint, it\'s always seems a little to \"grainy\"

does anybody have any tips on how to get it smooth?

i agree that the nmm on the breastplate and arm guards is great but it seems to be a much higher level than the rest of the metal. there are some really bright bits that the other parts are missing and, as a result, they don\'t \'pop\' as much. the blending on the sword especially is a bit shabby on the blade. the gold nmm is very good. the blending on the cloak and robe could be a little smoother in places and the hair looks a little rough. the freehand is coming along nicly and the skin looks brill. sorry if i seem too critical but there are some bits of this that stop it from really sticking out. keep up the good work!

I paint my thumb.
Great colors on the nmm, really metalic looking.
Think you\'ll have to get it smoother to get the nmm fans to really like it. The red line on the bottom of the robe is a bit messy, you may want to retouch it.
There is a neat tutorial on gems in the articles section, really nice gems would give this mini an extra \'pop\'

Really promising stuff!! Some of the NMM is at an excellent level, sadly some of the details and some metallic areas let down the overall look. Parts of the shield, blade, and yellow robe are a bit underdone, and the red freehand line could use some cleaning up.

The good news is that this is all pretty easy stuff to improve on!

Thanks for the reply\'s guys, they are really helpfull.

I must say that when you see a picture of your own work you see lots of points that can be improved, one way or another they do not catch the eye when you are actually working on it, the camera doesn\'t lie :)

I redid a couple of the parts, I leave it at this
on to the next project :)
