thats clean and cool. but could you drop the white background because it kinda blinds you to the mini. or to look at it another way the mini seems dark in comparison.

I think you know how much I like this mini

For such a lovely mini i think you need to show off all the lovely freehand it holds - I really think you should add a photo of his back to your submission, because for me this was one of the best parts; also, I have to agree with Schmack about the photo, it doesn\'t really show off the mini to its full potential :twisted:

yeah, I would love to show both sides, but as some of you know by now is that I haven\'t got photoshop.

so I was wondering if maby some on the forum could edit thrm and better them up for me

I would be pleased if someone can put them together in photoshop and change background

Well, I don\'t have photoshop and I can\'t change backgrounds, but I managed this in Freehand and iPhoto:

I cropped out some of the unnecessary blank space as well as brightening it up a little in iPhoto. Hope that helps

I think it looks great Larre!! Clean and really nice freehands, the face is great too.. a bit paler might be more suitable for an elf though. You can work some more on your metals overall, try using ordinary GW or Vallejo colour for shading. Using glazes to create depth. That will give you control of the light and shadows won\'t shine as much as highlights when wrongly lit.

The only thing truly bringing it down is the picture.. try taking picture against a more neutral background, like a semi-grey one. Do you use the manual functions of the camera to set the correct exposure? I can explain it all in Swedish if you PM me...

Voted an 8.. but if you continue improving like this your not far away from a 9.

thx avelorn! I actually did all that you said, I shaded with ordinary GW paints, I used glazes to make it look better, but I\'m was very unexperienced with the shape of the sword and the paint was very thick on the sword (it\'s actually a wood elf sword, but I primed it a bit too thick, so it was a quite big layer of paint before I started painting it )

I hope I can make my current project better than this one

Very thin glazes of purples mixed with a touch of black painted onto the shadowed areas of the sword would really improve it. As it is now it looks like two solid metallic shades with a slight bit of shading at the top and bottom.

The freehand is great allround, with the gold trim being the stand out for me.

One other bit, im not sure if its stock or a conversion, but the arm holding the sword seems to be at a really odd angle, perhaps if it was angled a bit lower.

The snow is a great touch, this is a fantastic mini! You need to get over to GD UK to give Bill a run for his money (and the gold!) Im pretty sure you are capable of it!

yeah, the arm is really supposed to have the fist pointing up
but I\'m not sure if I will do those touch-ups... maby if I have some time over
