High Elf Spearmen from Pheonix Guard

Hello all.

I want to make high elf pheonix guard into spearmen in my army but I\'m trying to figure out how to make them have shields. They are holding the weapons with two-hands so there isn\'t a place to put a shield without it looking to unatural I\'ve found.

Any tips at all would be awesome!

Maybe you could have them slung on their backs? That\'s what I\'ll be doing for my skaven stormvermin as they have halberds which are 2-handed weapons and like your phoenix guard, I can\'t put the shield on the arm.
