Highlighting Blood angels

Hi folks. Just a quick question. I\'ve noticed that the colour scheme these days for a blood angel seams to be highlighted with a flesh colour (dwarf flesh i think) What i want to know is do you prefer the old orange highlights or the new GW way of using a flesh colour or something else?

Thanks in advance ;)

Hi Larre. Sorry i haven\'t got any pics. I\'m just trying to figure out whats best for a blood angel. I know that its easy to go overboard with orange highlights that make it look too orange.

I often use VMC Beige to highlight red. I think using orange gives a very \"fake\" look! Beige gives a good result between pink and orange that I find very pleasing to the eye!

If you find it too pink for your liking you can always add tiny amounts of orange to tweak it in the direction you like. :)

I noticed this in the latest WD article on Devastators. I thought it looked like Tanned Flesh was the color used on the edge.

I\'m using vomit or bubonic brown then adding skull white at the mo but i do change to whatever suits me at the time, but ant lighter colour would do i suppose it just depends on the atmosphere and theme:)

yeah, those are great tips, but I have a tip for highlighting red cloth, you paint a base colour of red gore, then you add a bit blood red to the red gore. after some layers of highlights, add a bit sunburst yellow. when you have highlighted that to a nice look you add a bit white to the mix. but I tell ya, DO NOT highlight to any of those clean colours, allways start with a new paint when the colour before is just a little bit brighter.
and then, finally, you wash the whole area with purple ink.

that is a good tip imo :D

I hope you find it helpful
