His Infernal Majesty (HIM)

I know from previous threads that there are a lot of fellow music fans out there:bouncy:

Well I have just discovered a new (to me) band called HIM (His Infernal Majesty). I believe they are from Finland and they play what they call \'Love Metal\'???

Anyway, I am hooked bigstyle and I thought I would share this with you. I have nothing to do with this band whatsoever (I wish...) but I chanced upon them accidentally and would be gutted to have missed them.

Check out their site:

Tip: Go to \'Music\' and click on \'The funeral of Hearts\':D

funny that, I remember seeing them live years ago, when i was still oging to metal gigs, they used to play this really dodgy type of black metal..... I guess they grew up then ;) and threw away the facepaint ;)

Types of metal....

Years ago there was only Heavy Metal, now it seems to come in a variety of flavours:D
I haven\'t considered myself a \'Metal fan\' since the early days of Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, but these guys actually seemed to have been able to inject some melody???
Perhaps some would consider that to be \'Non Metallic Metal\' however:bouncy:

i don\'t really do metal anymore. I stopped being into it when death metal became really big...nowadays I\'m more into rockabilly, soul, ska, that kind of nonsense...although i was listening to Broadsword this morning....(Jethro Tull) ;)

HIM? Oh, I sincerely abhor the music. But everyone to his own, if you like it, go for it - but deep inside you soul you know that you long for the epic sound of Rhapsody, the aggressive philosophy by Soilwork, the earblasting Thrash by Metallica, King Diamond\'s impressive voice modulation.....

*slowly stops talking because he sees that nobody listens*

I like most things, but I tend to stop short of death/black metal and I dislike the so called R\'nB they have these days.

Music is great :)

Rhapsody - that gets 5 out of 6 gorgonzola\'s on the cheesy metal front. Soilwork and King Diamond now that\'s more like it.

Oh God they are ever so good. I bought one of their cd\'s a month ago and I\'ve listened to it close to 40 times now. As soon as I get enough cash scraped together I\'m going to pick up the rest of their stuff.:flip::bouncy:

edit: incedentally the cd I have lists the compser as Him and Her, so I wonder if they corraberated. I\'m pretty sure that Her was an 80\'s band and the song Wicked Game was a cover that Him did of theirs, though I\'ve been to lazy with finals and all to research it.

Metallica. Feh. Call me when Lars grows his original set of cojones back. ;)

*settles back for a nice round of Iron Maiden*

For those who are into old fashioned power metaaaaaaaaal \\m/:mad:\\m/ I can heartily recommend Dragonforce

Warning this band contains widdley guitar solos and plays at speeds that make Children of Bodom look sedate. :D
