Hit a Block

I was asked to paint up some Ultramarines and have been working away on them for a couple of weeks. I was asked to basically follow the box art (with minor differences) on these and am trying to do so. They look pretty good and the owner likes them but I have seem to find a point where I'm not quite satisfied with the paint and I'm not sure how to fix it. I don't want to take too much time with these as they are supposed to be "tabletop" quality but I still find a challenge in improving with each model. They seem to not be as crisp and neat (if that makes sense) as I would like. I wanted to post a picture or two and see what you all think. One guy is from the Honor Guard and the other is from the Black Reach box. I feel a bit stuck on improvement on GW figures and would like to break through it.

Well, on the 2nd figure, the blue seems a little chalky. How to fix that? Uh, yeah, so carrying on. The only other thing I could possibly see that was leaving a not-so-crisp feeling is the black lining seems a bit, well, GW-ish. Perhaps that's the sticking point?

But I'd really count these as above table top standard, so not sure you really need to push it higher.

I have to agree with Peg. Using darker variants of blue here instead of straight black on the armour would work better I reckon. It does a lot for the whole feel of the model.
