Hits vs Damages

Hello,

Are damages split between models like hits are?
I explain: let's say I have a card making my hits deal 2 damages instead of 1 and my model is attacking a zone with one deckhand and one hero. I roll two hits.
Is it:
A) I hit the deckhand once and the hero once overkilling the deckhand and dealing two damages to the hero
B) I deal 4 damages: one to the deckhand, killing it, and 3 to the hero?

Hits are assigned to models, those Hits might deal multiple damage, but damage does not carry over to other models.
