Holy Ground

hey, im in to process of painting a grey knights army, and i thought a kool idea would be having their feet \"seeping\" holy energy to the barren and chaotic ground they stand on. so far i\'ve only painted one standard Knight, with a snaded base painted blck, for simplicity. any ideas how i can make the ground around his feet look like there is light or energy being forced into it. i was thinkning about just adding white around his feet but that looked S*!t tbh i was hoping for somethign rather simple so its not too hard to copy over, but anything gose atm.
im sure the wealth of knowlage here will help :)

thanks

Usea lava effect, but just use different colours.

Klute did an article on it where you just drybrush to a decent effect. (Its in the articles section, I can\'t be bothered to look for it)

Well, if it were a FEMALE model, such as the Living saint, I\'d say flowers everywhere...

For GKs that might look a bit gay though lol

Hmm... How about...
Some sort of light blue OSL emanating from them...

wow that was some quick help, cheers guys. i think i\'ll save the lava effect for my grand master, so it looks like his presence alone is rupturing the ground and letting out holy energy. as for the OSL i wouldnt have a monkeys how to start , or midway and finish it lol. but if some1 would give me some pointers, more detailed the better on how to do the blue OSL i,d be more then happy to give it a whirl :)

thanks again

well, Shawn RL is the best person to talk to
He has a thread here on the boards, and/or you could PM him.

But the best way to think about it, is that ur entire GK is emanating this light from himself - so although you don\'t actually paint him blue, he is the \"Brightest\" point, and everything around is gradually going to be less and less blue as you move out.
