Horus Heresy Era Death Guard (first squad)

I've been holding off putting up this WIP as progress has been monumentally slow due to various real life commitments. However as the squad is now in the last phases of creation I thought it was worth putting up I've actually enjoyed painting these miniatures more than anything in a long time. Picture isn't too far out although it was taken using the flash.

I've got the highlighting on the shoulder pads to do, a sharp edge highlight in white and then the bases after which I can do some oil & pigment weathering and sort out the base I've got another 15 of these to do plus some terminators so am going to paint all of the bolters and weapons at once.

They're looking good. Just my personal opinion but I think they would look even better if you upped the depth of the white a little more by increasing the shadows. A wash with brown oils would work very well, allowing you to use a cotton swab to remove the excess and clear up the areas that you want to leave brighter.

Alternatively you could always hit them from the underside with a light brown spray using an airbrush if you have one, although I think the brown controlled wash would be more effective adding to the grimy feel of the era.
