I don\'t think they have started the books on the final battle between horus and the emporer. I still don\'t think his spirit was destroyed?

The Horus Heresy fills in a lot of the gaps and relationships between the primarchs and the space marine legions.

The Ultramarines lost there entire first company defending the northern and southern orbital defense platforms, I think I have read somewhere that when Marneus Calgar entered the inner chamber in the northern platform, there was one guy alive and that was the first company captain, Agemann. I might be wrong about the lone survivor but the rest us true, I swear :innocent:

I dont think its possibly to just make a primarch, they have a lot more of the emperors genes than the space marines and the emperor did not just make them, he supposedly used to warp to. So I dont think Fabius, even though he is a evil genius, is going to pull that feat of

Has anyone read Nemesis? It is really good. I have grown to respect the Vindicare. But I loved the way the Eversor was protrayed. I've liked them since 2nd edition.

I think I have them all (picked up a ton lately when there was a big sale at Chapters, and then GW had a big restock of some of the ones I was missing ) and currently I'm 3/4 finished Legion. Neat concepts at play, for the most part. Like some of the books I get the feeling it's a little bit longer than it needs to be, but I'm still happy with it. I have heard great things about Mechanicum, can't wait to read it.

I agree with you on that Ebonbuddha, I think for me Nemesis has to be one of my favorites out of the series. I was a little disappointed with the first dark angels book, although it was interesting for a perspective on the chapters history. The second book for them though was just so much more enjoyable for me. Other favs are Fulgrim and legion as well as flight of eisenstein. But on the whole I don't think there is one I haven't enjoyed. Just started reading the first heretic, and I still have to read mechanicum, as I read a little then ended up reading something else.

I wouldn't mind the audio books but they are quite expensive to buy (think they are like 9.99) and are quite short, I would have much preferred them to say have included them with the other short stories in tales of heresy.

The series though should last a long time as there is so much to uncover in the heresy and so much detail. Hopefully the quality of writing will continue so it remains enjoyable.

Anyone know the order of these books? I think I'd just finished Flight of the Eisenstien last. No idea what's next of subsequent to that!

After Eisenstien, the list goes like this: Fulgrim, Decent of Angels, Legion, Battle for the Abyss, Mechanicum, Tales of Heresy(althuogh is a collection of stories, so could be a stand alone), Fallen Angels, A Thousand Sons, Nemesis, First Heretic, Prospero Burns, And Age of Darkness. There are other books that kind of fit into the series, but you can pick where. Lol they are; the Horus heresy Chapbook, The dark king-lightning tower(about Konrad Kurze), Ravensflight(Audio), and Garro-Oath of the moment, and Legion of one (both audio).

I myself am stuck at Mechanicum. I am waiting for an influx of that wonderously elusive green stuff that babies seem to make dissapear so I can continue. Lol Although some of the books laked a bit of panache, and/or more description, I am pretty happy overall with the series thus far. Being that I am a fan of the reading(cant really afford the mini hobby) I am enjoying the explanation of the events surrounding the heresy! Learning about the relationships, and they way things work out, is interesting. I do wonder wether we will ever hear about the two traitor legions that were summarilly wiped from history.

The books are fine how they are. I have read all of them so far and haven't been disappointed. I don't know how much more description you need. The books are fast paced and definitely attention grabbing. The only thing I didn't like is what hey did to Ferrus Manus. And I will not say it here because I don't want to spoil it.

Ah nice one, cheers Rahm! Looking at that I realized i'd got as far as Legion lmao!

What were the two traitor Legions that got wiped out? Can't remember hearing anything about those. And yeah EB, I'd have thought Ferrus Manus would be more hardcore that's one thing that truly sucked! Fulgrims internal conflict was well done though.

One story I really liked was in the tales of heresy compilation book, the dark angels story it really opens the debate on the side taken by the dark angels and the loyalties of them and this also ties in with something in fallen angels (dont want to spoil anything)

One of the best elements I feel is how nothings so black and white as the history has been in the past, it creates a great atmosphere of unease within the legions, even those who turn to chaos have loyalists in the ranks.

Yeah, I always thought the Dark Angels would have a great brooding past that could be well written about. Still to read the second book after Decent, but I thought that Decent was a necessary prelude to a much larger story despite the negativity some people have about the book. The dissent among the internal workings of traitor legions is great! Who'd have thought a World Eater would turn his back on Angron to help Ultramarines, etc? The sinister air and logic of the Alpha Legion leaves a lot of food for thought too. Brilliant stuff.
Very well thought out and written books imho.

Currently in the middle of Nemisis...........first 3 were the best, but "A Thousand Sons" was also an excellent book.
