3 DVD MINI-PAINTING SET TO BE UNVEILED AT GENCON INDY!
Hot Lead: How to Paint a Better Miniature, the brain child of Laszlo Jakusovszky and culmination of two years of filming, will debut at GenCon Indy, held from August 13-18 at the Indianapolis Convention Center.
These how-to-paint-minis videos go beyond what’s been done before... The instructional quality of the product benefits from Laszlo’s many years of teaching experience. In a friendly, yet informative manner, he makes his techniques clear and accessible to painters of all levels, from beginners to advanced painters. By picking up this set, the beginner can start from scratch and learn the techniques necessary to become an accomplished painter. The advanced painter will benefit from in-depth tutorials on blending and layering, as well as mastering fleshtones and the elusive realism of well-painted non-metallic metallics (NMM).
There really is something here for everyone!
The Hot Lead team utilized top-quality filming equipment, striving for a high level of production quality. Owners of the set will have the opportunity to see many techniques demonstrated at extreme close range, such as painting eyes, wet blending, and NMM, using multiple example miniatures and separate chapters for each technique. The DVDs include thorough coverage of all applicable tools and materials available to the painter today.
Filming with bright, diffuse light allows the viewer to actually see the paint being pushed around on the surface and the difference in paint consistency. Painters who have attended Laszlo’s classes, or those of other painters, will attest that the experience, while helpful, is never as useful as seeing the actual technique demonstrated in scale. By use of lighting and close-up video work, these DVDs correct this - you can see the demos magnified, and use the individual chapter menus to access exactly the lesson you need.
The first release will be top-quality NTSC DVDs, encoded for progressive-scan players to capture all the nuances. (PAL and SECAM versions are planned for subsequent release, according to demand.) This set of 3 DVDs contains over eight hours of material (500+ minutes) and will be sold at $40.00 US (before applicable tax and shipping.)
Look for us at Booth 1529, next to Reaper Miniatures. Laszlo will be performing painting demos throughout the convention, offering critiques and giving advice. Come by to chat and check it out!
