Hot Sauce Competition For Charity - People in Canada - pledges/donations/sponsors?

Hello,

At work we're having a hot sauce contest for charity. Basically, 10 sauces, whomever can handle them without too much issues wins (if tie, whomever has the least water, and then, whomever has most donations). Money goes to 'Run for the Cure'. $20 cdn donation grants a tax receipt (email address and mailing address required).

if anyone here works in an office that has similar charity events, would you consider sponsoring me this year instead?

Contest is Sept 22. I have to submit donations by September 16.

If anyone is interested, message me/email me, and I'll take the sponsor amts via paypal.

PS: anyone anywhere can sponsor, but not sure about how tax receipts work for other countries. If someone wants to sponsor, but sponsors less than $20, my work doesn't grant tax receipts for those

so we don't know WHICH sauces they will use...but rumours I hear are Dave's Insanity, Satan's Blood, Black Mamba, Wild Mongoose...

the rule is for each sponsor, you have to eat 1 sauce..so I currnetly have 12 or so...so i have to eat all 10. At any time i can request a popsicle/freezie, but then i am disqualified. everyone gets 3 tokens; each grants a glass of water... if there is a tie (ie. multiple people eat all 10 sauces without dying), then they check who drank the least water, and if still tied, who has most charity sponsor in terms of $ amt).

the actual eating rules are dip a pretzil stick, 1 cm in and eat it.

so for me...i eat stuff like mongoose, mamba, Nothing Beyond, etc... Generally, i take it straight on a small spoon but not a full spoon amount. Like, enough to cover a finger nail. That much I can take straight without much issue. If i take a full spoonfull, i can still handle it without yelling for help, but then i may start sweating a bit, or eyes may shut for a moment.

so I think i should do ok. I most likely wont need to give up...and i'll prob keep going even they serve us molten lava, nuclear waste, or greek fire.

ya...those 'sauces' are hot, but i generally dont sweat from them. I think as long as I don't start tearing up or screaming or making strange faces, I am ok. I just sit calmly and wait for feeling to subside.

Not that big a deal as long as you can stay focussed and not panic.

I think those two are on completely different levels, but I wouldn't want to eat a full spoonful of even Dave's Insanity when just one drop is enough to make a large bowl of noodles hot enough to make ya sit up and take notice!

Not that big a deal as long as you can stay focussed and not panic.

True dat - quite surprising in a way how much the emotional reaction can help you or cause you a problem (much like pain tolerance in general).

I eat Dave's Insanity sauce on a semi-regular basis. My daughter and I use a bit on pizza, or other such stuff.

That one is about as far as I've really ever tried.

Today my "Nothing Beyond" arrived. 4 million scoville or so it says. had a small amount (enough to cover my pinky nail from a small spoon). It made me sweat a bit. it was hot, but again, could handle it. i wouldn't eat a full large spoonful straight though unless it was mixed in with something... i'm sure at that point such a large quantity could be dangerous.
