How about a brand new army?

I like that Games Workshop is reissuing there armies with better models. But am I the only one who wants to see some new armies instead of just rehashing the old ones again?

Ogre Kingdoms was very cool. What ideas do you guys have if you were asked to create a whole new army for Warhammer?

chaos dwarves will be redone sometime, but its debatable as to whether these are considered a new army, other than that they probably will create a couple of new races over the next 5 or 10 years (ogre kingdoms being the latest for example) but dont get your hopes up really, i wouldnt think gw would be too bothered about new races so long as they can reinvent old races and still keep the money coming in.

Long ago announced and hinted at was an army of the east (which is what Ogre Kindoms was a stepping stone to). I\'d also like for them to finish working over all the old army list before they start anything new. I\'m still waiting for them to do something new with Dogs of War.

40k... needs to flesh out and balance existing armies first (Necron, Tau, Eldar, Blood Angels all need work...)
adding new races just compounds the problem...

Fantasy... come on... you can only cram so many races onto a single planet...

tho a Nippon army so i can get more samurai figs would be nice...

they have plenty of fantasy armies already. If you go by the major deviations of each army such as chaos beasts, chaos demons, chaos mortals, chaos undivided etc theres a ton of them. With all the army lists added with the storm of chaos campaign and such they really just need to work on what they have. DOgs of war needs work, and a few other armies also. Not even getting into 40k, been waiting on the new ork codex so long I been working on space marines instead because they at least are up to date.

I agree, GW should update at least the models of older armies and hopefully remake the rules (many armies are simply too outdated, like dogs of war and chaos dwarves...), but as I already said there is a tendency now in adding brand new armies from the east.
There\'s also a little rumor about VC being redone and a new bloodline coming out (ok Cavatore announced that he had in mind another bloodline already in the articles and designers notes when the 6th ed. VC were released...)

Armies

When I started this post I thought that you guys would have more interesting feedback than this. I agree that they should redo all the armies but aren\'t they almost done with all of them? Chaos dwarves, Dogs of war, Empire, and Orcs and Goblins are all that is left I think.

So after that you guys want them to redo armies like the Dark Elves again!? They just did them a few years back. And do you want them to do Wood elves again in a few years? Sounds awfully repetitive to me. They have been redoing all the armies since the 6th edition came out. When they are done with that plan, give us somethig new is all I ask.

Well actually they already gave you a new army: ogres.

Besides 7th ed. is supposed to come out around october (just a rumor linked to the new goblins Vs dwarves set) and that means they\'re going to redo all of the armies in the next 3-4 years anyway.

Of course they will make some new armies in the process (most probaly Cathay as it seems) but I think there will be at least another 2-3 redone \'old armies\' first, since as it was said some of the \'old ones\' are effecively quite old (5-6 years since the last update).

You also have to consider that already with the existing armies all tactical aproaches and all styles of play are covered and any new army will be preatty much a different looking variant of an already existing one (ogres for instance are an alternative to a beast of chaos minotaurs army).
