How did that happen?

Ok, so I work where I have to wear steel toed boots - Today, due to the weather I wore a heavy outer pair of socks and a lighter weight cotton pair - and apparently wore a hole in the inner pair of socks. Which I havent figured out how happened yet - any guesses?

Where's the hole in the cotton sock?

You could easily wear a hole with a toenail, regardless of there being a sock outside of that. But the texture of a woollen sock could itself wear on the cotton pair if it's on the ball of the foot or heel.

Didn't the Large Hadron Collider restart this last weekend? Might explain it, what with all those mini black holes they might be making.
